As a longtime fan and follower of Craig David, I must say that his recent actions have only deepened my admiration for him. His unexpected street performance at Notting Hill Carnival was not just a testament to his unwavering love for music, but also a beautiful demonstration of his connection with his fans.

On Saturday, Craig David caught off-guard a reveler at the Notting Hill Carnival with an impromptu street show.

Every August bank holiday weekend, I always look forward to attending an annual event that never fails to bring joy. As a 43-year-old garage enthusiast myself, I can attest to the delight this individual brought to all of us who ventured out for the day.

In an Instagram video he posted, the singer seized control of the microphone to belt out his timeless 2000 track “7 Days.”

David titled his post: ‘When 7 Days blends with Taxi Beat. The instant I heard that sound, my inner kid sprang to life, and at that very moment, I knew precisely what task was at hand.’

Initially, he was observed strolling along the street. Upon spotting a petite booth equipped with a microphone, he made his way towards it and commenced singing.

As more individuals recognized the well-known figure, they started to amass around him, and several people commenced recording him on their devices.

Spectators reacted swiftly with astonishment upon witnessing an unexpected performance, expressing their surprise in comments such as “If I ever come across Craig grooving on the street like that…what in the world!”

‘Aw how cool is this vibe …. Saweeeeet!!!’,

‘Okkkk I think we need a whole album in this vibe sir…’,

‘Yoooooo this crazy.’

As someone who has gone through a similar period of abstinence for personal growth, I can empathize with Craig’s decision to take a break from intimacy. Taking time away from relationships and sexual activity to focus on healing one’s own issues is a courageous choice that requires immense self-awareness and discipline. It shows maturity and dedication to personal development, which ultimately leads to a stronger and healthier emotional foundation in the long run. I applaud Craig for making this decision and wish him well on his journey towards healing and growth.

The singer stated that taking a break from sexual relationships has brought him “positive energy” because he’s successfully avoided “a great deal of complications” during the last four years.

Besides confessing this, he acknowledged that the absence of intimate distractions has instead ignited a stunning surge of creativity within his studio work.

He shared with The TMZ Podcast that it’s been fantastic for him, as the studio environment, the music, and the creative process are simply free of drama, offering a peaceful ambiance instead.

For the past two years, I’ve abstained from sexual activity. Yet, in an amusing twist, this period has seen my creativity soar to unprecedented heights, reaching its peak without a doubt.

In June 2023, it was disclosed that he had chosen abstinence, following previous brags about his sexual experiences in the popular 2000 song “7 Days.”

Craig, once famed for his romantic escapades, admitted that he has transformed into a different person and presently does not have a partner.

In his popular song, the renowned crooner famously proclaimed his romantic escapades as happening on multiple days including Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. However, during a recent interview, he admitted that it’s been over a year since his last amorous encounter.

During an interview with Louis Theroux on his podcast, the British musician expressed that casual encounters (one-night stands) could potentially result in a variety of emotional or physical struggles (traumas).

The lead singer of Rise And Fall openly shared that he’s using this break from sexual relationships to psychologically prepare himself for meeting his future partner, aiming to establish a new relationship on a positive note.

He told The Louis Theroux Podcast: ‘I realised that me not having healed my own issues meant I was never in a position to be open to someone else.

Over the past couple of years, it’s become clear that I needed to take a step back from everything, which is exactly what I’ve done.

As someone who has navigated my fair share of relationships, I understand that sometimes difficult conversations need to be had. Here’s a suggestion for how you might phrase it: “I think we should take a break from seeing each other romantically and put an end to our physical intimacy. It’s not an easy decision, but I believe it’s best for both of us right now.” This approach acknowledges the complexity of the situation while making it clear that changes are needed.

‘Sometimes you gotta pull it back, man. I’m 42 years old now, things are different’, he added.

If we don’t share deep conversations while laughing heartily together, if I can’t appreciate the depths of your personality, then we’ll simply be repeating a familiar game for me, as I have been since the beginning.

‘I don’t want that anymore.’

Previously Craig enjoyed a number of short-term relationship in his 20s and 30s.
