Coyote Ugly sequel gets major update as Piper Perabo drives fans wild with hints 25 years after filming original movie

A follow-up for “Coyote Ugly” might be on its way, given that one of the original cast members has announced significant news, leaving many dedicated fans thrilled.

At this past weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con event, actress Piper Perabo, famous for her role as Violet Sanford in the 2000 movie, subtly suggested there could be a future installment of that film.

The actress, aged 48, who played lead roles during her twenties in movies like Coyote Ugly, casually suggested that some work is underway and mentioned that quiet discussions about this project have taken place off-camera.

She mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday that there have been talks about certain topics, or alternatively, discussions regarding specific matters are ongoing.

She went on cryptically: ‘I’m afraid I can’t be more specific, but those who engaged in it seem to be discussing certain matters.’

Her latest news follows roughly eleven months since Perabo reconnected with the main cast to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Coyote Ugly, an event attended by Tyra Banks, Maria Bello, Izabella Miko, Bridget Moynahan, and Melanie Lynskey.

When asked if discussions for another movie were resuming, she replied, “Some people who initially thought ‘We don’t really need this,’ have now expressed enthusiasm, saying, ‘I really want to be a part of it.’

She added: ‘So there’s a lot of cooks in the kitchen right now, but things are moving around.’

When inquired about the existence of a draft for Coyote Ugly 2, she simply stated: ‘I have no comments on that matter.’

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share an insight: Although I can’t reveal specific details just yet, I can assure you that the key figures who played crucial roles in its creation are actively discussing ways to enhance and evolve our shared endeavor. Stay tuned for updates!

The actress previously starred in the the original movie, which was released in 2000.

In this comedy-drama, she portrayed Violet Sanford, an ambitious songwriter striving for success in the music industry. To finance her dreams, she took a position at the rowdy Coyote Ugly saloon.

In that location, she encounters Kevin O’Donnell, who is played by Adam Garcia. He assists her in conquering her fear of performing on stage.

In the thrill of my unbridled fervor, I couldn’t help but land a gig at the lively hotspot known as Coyote Ugly. Yet, as fate would have it, my father – old John Goodman himself – discovered this new chapter in my life and found himself displeased with the ambiance of the place. Alas, my joy was short-lived as I was let go from that vibrant establishment.

Later on, he becomes embroiled in a car accident, which leaves him shaken. This harrowing incident prompts him to reevaluate his perspective, inspiring him to motivate his daughter to chase her aspirations as a songwriter.

Regardless of its modest budget and mixed criticism, the film Coyote Ugly managed to become a success by earning an impressive $113 million globally.

At the end of February, the original cast gathered for a special viewing and question-and-answer session to commemorate the silver jubilee of the film hitting the screens.

At the gathering, I found myself utterly captivated, laughing heartily, and feeling an emotional connection that was reminiscent of a spellbinding cinematic experience. In essence, it mirrored the magic, wildness, humor, and profound depth of the film itself.

At the event prior to its start, as reported by People, Bello commended Banks for her efforts in arranging the charity event.

At the panel discussion, Miko reminisced about the rigorous practice sessions they underwent for the intricate dance routines in the film.

She mused, ‘It seemed as though it had been several months, though I can’t say for sure if it was that long, but it definitely felt prolonged.’ What stood out to her was not only the intricate choreography, but also the challenge of managing fire and water elements. That experience was truly exhilarating.’

Miko expressed her sincere appreciation for not having to dance on the bar, which she referred to as a horrific ordeal.

Before the gathering, Bello playfully hinted that he hadn’t laid eyes on certain ladies for a quarter of a century, and he was eagerly anticipating the unfolding events.

Back in 2018, she teased that she was eager to reprise her role as the no-nonsense bartender.

The actress expressed her eagerness to create Coyote Ugly 2, telling People that she intends to produce it and is seeking the rights from Jerry Bruckheimer, or plans to collaborate with him instead.
