As a child of the ’90s, I must confess my heart skipped a beat when I read about Courtney Love being a fan of East 17 on the new series of Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Growing up, Nirvana and Hole were the soundtrack to my rebellious teenage years, while Stay Another Day was the anthem of every school disco I attended. The fact that these two iconic figures from the worlds of grunge and pop are now sharing a laugh on the same show is nothing short of surreal.

Courtney Love revealed she’s a fan of East 17 on the new series of Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

On Wednesday, I’ll be swooning front-row as the queen of grunge, Courtney, turns 60! Can you believe it? She’s gracing our screens, sharing her rock ‘n’ roll wisdom in a special episode dedicated to everything that rocks my world!

In an extraordinary behind-the-scenes exchange I was privileged to witness, the delightful Courtney and Terry Coldwell, the charismatic frontman of East 17, shared a hearty chuckle during our lively conversation on Sky’s program.

During the discussion on funeral tunes, Joel Dommett commented after Terry got on stage, “In all honesty, a fantastic choice for a funeral song could be ‘Eat 17 Stay Another Day’.

Courtney told Terry: ‘On my Christmas playlist every year.’

Terry replied: ‘I saw you on YouTube, saying it was one of your favourite songs!’

Courtney inquired: “I have a contact, Bret, he’s pals with my acting buddy. Can you recall the name of the fellow from East 17 who handles bands?

Jamali Maddix interjected humorously, exclaiming: “It feels as if I’ve stepped onto a busy bus stop!” This statement elicited hearty laughter from the audience.

17 East was made up of members Brian Harvey, Tony Mortimer, and John Hendy, who achieved success with songs like “Stay Another Day,” “Deep,” and “Steam.

Following the disclosure, Daisy May Cooper has decided to relinquish her role as team captain on the program.

In this upcoming trivia game centered around music, the popular entertainer Greg Davies is slated to come back as the emcee, while both Noel Fielding and frequent collaborator Jamali Maddix are expected to reprise their roles as team captains.

Sophie Willan will temporarily take over Daisy’s role on the show, with Daisy expected to return for the Christmas Special.

Upon Sophie’s arrival, Greg remarked that she is incredibly natural and quite playful, much like Daisy, who can easily adapt to any situation.

‘She’s very naturally funny. She’s also the first from Bolton to befriend Nelly Furtado. I think that’s a fair statement.

He mentioned that while neither Sophie nor Daisy exhibit strong competitiveness on a regular basis, there may be instances where they put up a facade of competition.

As a devoted enthusiast, I’m thrilled to be part of the star-studded lineup, which includes celebrities from the realms of music and comedy. Each special will be themed, taking us on a nostalgic journey through the Nineties, Noughties, Rock era, and the world of Girl and Boy Bands.

The team captains will be joined by guests including Spice Girl Mel B for the Nineties episode.

In a special segment, singer Perrie Edwards from Little Mix will participate, and during the 2000s episode, cultural icon and lead vocalist of The Gossip, Beth Ditto, will be featured.

In the past, individuals such as Jade Thirwall from Little Mix, Shaggy, Pete Doherty, Ellie Goulding, Suggs, and Hannah Waddingham have graced episodes of the Sky show with their presence.

In reference to the latest installment of the show, Greg Davies commented: “I’m truly excited to dive back into the chaos of Buzzcocks. But let’s face it, who actually reads these interview statements, and for what reason?

Please take some time to watch the show, but also remember to step outside between episodes, chat with your companion, or read to your kids. Essentially, make the most of life – enjoy it!
