Courteney Cox pays tribute to Friends co-star Matthew Perry one year after his death

As a gamer who grew up in the 90s, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia every time I hear about Friends and its cast. Losing Matthew Perry was like losing a part of my childhood. His character, Chandler Bing, brought so much laughter and joy to my life during tough times.


Courteney Cox has paid tribute to her Friends co-star Matthew Perry, one year after his death.

On Instagram, Cox posted a picture showing her and Perry grinning at each other, as well as one of the full Friends cast. She captioned it “I miss you today and every day” accompanied by a heart symbol.

In her post, Cox additionally acknowledged The Matthew Perry Foundation. This charitable organization was set up in memory of the actor after his passing and represents his lasting dedication towards aiding those battling addiction issues, a cause close to his heart.

It aspires to follow Perry’s personal statements and anecdotes, and be propelled by his fervor for impacting the maximum number of lives positively.

Perry was also remembered by Jennifer Aniston who shared her own series of photos on Instagram.

Aniston’s post started off with a vintage black-and-white snapshot featuring herself and Perry during their ‘Friends’ era, along with pictures showcasing the cast embracing and Perry sporting a smile.

The actress captioned the photos: “1 year,” also tagging The Matthew Perry Foundation.

In October, Perry passed away at his residence, aged 54. The postmortem examination found that his demise was an unintended consequence due to a sudden reaction to ketamine.

An autopsy found that multiple elements led to his demise. These included drowning, heart disease related to the coronary arteries, and the aftermath of buprenorphine – a medication often employed for managing opioid addiction issues.
