Country Star Sam Hunt Arrested Again After DUI ‘Wake-Up Call’

In my role as a lifestyle advisor, let me share some recent news: Yours truly, country music sensation Sam Hunt, found myself on the wrong side of the law in Henderson County, Tennessee. The reason? I was caught speeding and failed to comply with an interlock device requirement. It’s always important to remember to respect traffic laws and drive responsibly.

40-year-old songwriter behind “I Met a Girl,” was detained last week, specifically on January 20th, according to TMZ. He was granted bail in the amount of $1,500 and released on the same day.

Hunt’s lawyer cleared the paperwork in court this week, and there will be no charges.

The expectant father, who happens to be a singer-songwriter, has been issued a speeding ticket; he intends to settle the fine.

It’s highly probable that the installation of the breathalyzer in his vehicle, designed to prevent drunk driving, originated from his 2019 DUI arrest, a pivotal event he referred to as his “eye-opener.

Dailymail.com has reached out to reps for Hunt for comment. 

In April of last year he told Taste of Country Nights that his DUI was a ‘wake-up call.’

He explained that it became clear the very next day what had happened, and as time went by, he began to understand, learn, and grow from his errors.

At 6:30 am in 2019, he was arrested at a Nashville, Tennessee metro jail, as per the Metro Nashville Police Department, for allegedly driving while intoxicated and possessing an open alcohol container.

According to TMZ, Hunt allegedly veered multiple times across the central divider while driving on Ellington Parkway.

Police told the site that he ‘smelled of booze’ and had bloodshot eyes.

And there were allegedly two empty beer cans next to him in his car.

In another report, it was stated that while he was apparently looking for his ID, police claimed he had it visibly placed on his lap. Instead of producing his driver’s license, he displayed a credit card and passport to the officers.

In simpler terms, when Hunt underwent a field sobriety test, it was revealed that his blood-alcohol content was 0.173. This figure surpasses the legal limit by more than double.

He had admitted that he had been drinking that night, the site added.

Hunt posted a $2,500 bond and was released.

Hunt was born in Cedartown, Georgia.

He played football in high school and college then pursue a professional sports career.

But then in 2014 he signed with MCA Nashville.

Known for his distinctive mix of country, R&B, and pop sounds, Hunt is recognized by tunes like “Body Like a Back Road” and “House Party”.

His initial studio album, titled Montevillo, shattered numerous record on the charts by producing five hit singles such as “Leave The Night On”.

2020 saw the release of his second full-length studio album, titled “Southside”. Additionally, he has put out several extended plays (EPs) and mixtapes prior to this.

The musician has been nominated for five Grammys over the years, but has yet to win.

In the month of November 2024, it was revealed that Hunt and his spouse, Hannah Lee Fowler (aged 39), were set to welcome their third child as a couple, marking two years since they decided not to proceed with their divorce.

In the latest episode, Hunt shared that both his wife and her sister are expecting. He said, “Things are about to get very real. I’m overjoyed, I can hardly contain my excitement.

Fowler’s due date is in May.

Later, it was disclosed that he intended to step back from touring duties to devote more attention to child-rearing instead.

The singer expressed that they plan to step away from touring in the coming years, hopefully. They’ve enjoyed performing for such wonderful audiences, but they also want to take advantage of their children being young enough to accompany them during tours.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but be overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of those who eagerly anticipate our presence. But let me make it clear, I never assume this excitement; I cherish it as a priceless gift.

Sam and Hannah initially crossed paths in the year 2008, but they parted ways in 2016 as he relocated to Nashville to follow his dream of music.

Nevertheless, they quickly reignited their relationship and got engaged in January 2017. They exchanged vows during a heartfelt and private wedding ceremony in Georgia, which took place in April of the same year.

After being married for five years, Fowler initiated a divorce from Hunt in February 2022. In the proceedings, she alleged both infidelity and improper behavior within their marriage.

In April, a few months afterward, she decided to postpone the divorce. A source had shared with Entertainment Tonight that “Sam and Hannah are focusing on mending their relationship.

They are extremely thrilled about the arrival of their daughter and are solely concentrating on this joyous event. Sam has been diligently preparing to ensure that Hannah feels secure, at ease, and has faith in him.

In May 2022, their daughter Lucy came into the world, while their son was born in October 2023.

Just prior to the announcement about the baby, Sam had been quite occupied and recently released a new song called “Liberty”.

On November 1, the track was officially unveiled, and exactly a month earlier, he marked the 10-year milestone of his debut album Montevello’s release.
