Country music legend Willie Nelson, 91, set to release a special album with his youngest son Micah
As a lifelong fan of country music and Willie Nelson, witnessing the collaboration between the iconic singer-songwriter and his son Micah is nothing short of heartwarming. Having grown up listening to Willie’s timeless tunes, it’s incredible to see the legacy being carried on by a new generation.
The iconic musician Willie Nelson is preparing to debut an exclusive album alongside his youngest son, Micah. Their shared musical passion has been instrumental in bringing them closer as they collaborate on this unique project.
ninety-one-year-old songwriter known for “Always On My Mind” boasts a family of seven kids. Interestingly, Micah, at thirty-four, appears to be the one considering a career in music like his father.
Over the last few months, a team made up of a father and son has been working together to produce an upcoming album that will be available for purchase starting November 1st.
The album, named “Last Leaf on the Tree,” was created by Micah who also played several instruments during its production.
After spending numerous hours working together in the studio, it appears that Willie and Micah’s friendship has deepened significantly, suggesting a stronger bond between them.
As reported by Saving Country Music, the upcoming album features original compositions by Willie, along with tunes from other musicians.
Micah produced the project and had a huge part in the song selection process.
In an interview, the 34-year-old shared that he adopted a “sculptor’s mindset” for their project, later emphasizing the extensive effort he and his father invested in creating the album.
He said: ‘It’s an approach that I really love and have used a lot over the years—just throwing the clay down and stepping back, then maybe adding a little more, and then maybe shaving down here, and kind of building the tracks that way.’
Musician and composer Tom Waits as well as Neil Young contributed songs to the album.
Meanwhile, Micah added the song Wheels. As for Willie, he gives listeners a flash back to the past by re-recording the hit The Ghost, which he first wrote in 1962.
Together, the musical team made up of a father and son pooled their skills and created the song titled “The Hue of Melody.”
It is said that Willie’s son performs music on a variety of over two dozen different instruments in the album, such as guitars, pianos, along with unconventional ones like sticks, branches, logs, and dry leaves.
Come June, I found myself sitting out the initial performances of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour due to my team’s announcement that I wasn’t feeling quite up to par.
I’m sorry to share this news, but due to poor health, as directed by his doctor, Willie Nelson has been instructed to take a break for the upcoming four days.
It’s anticipated that he’ll swiftly get better and take part in the Outlaw Music Festival tour within the next week. For now, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band, together with some special guests, plan to play a unique set featuring Willie’s hits as well as other tunes.
Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and Celisse performed at the festival as scheduled.
The Outlaw Music Fest Tour is set to wrap up September 20 in Gilford, New Hampshire.
Earlier, Willie was forced to call off his 2019 tour with Krauss due to a health issue involving difficulty in breathing that required immediate attention.
Towards the end of the year, the expert on cannabis admitted that he stopped using marijuana after a health alarm.
