Counterplay Games, the Studio Behind Godfall, Has Reportedly “Disbanded”
As per PlayStation Lifestyle’s report, it appears that the team responsible for creating the game, Godfall, known as Counterplay Games, has apparently shut down, as suggested by a LinkedIn post detailing the situation.
For approximately half a year now, our project at Jackalyptic Games has been significantly boosted by the exceptional developers at Counterplay Games.
Their influence is simply indescribable. Right from the start, they’ve been tirelessly dedicated, as if working on something that truly matters to them.
“Unfortunately we were unable to continue our partnership into the new year and CPG was disbanded.
I’d like to introduce you to some people I’ve collaborated with closely, whom I highly endorse, and I hope to join forces with them again soon!
The LinkedIn post lacks concrete information, like the exact number of Counterplay employees who were terminated or whether Counterplay Games is completely closed. So far, the studio has remained silent regarding this matter.
Initially, Godfall was only available for the PlayStation 5 at its launch, but subsequently, it became accessible on other platforms. This game offered an engaging action Role-Playing Game (RPG) experience within a mythical setting, where your mission was to thwart an impending apocalypse.
