It emerged recently that the Biden administration is exploring options for maintaining TikTok in American app stores. However, today’s news indicates that this decision may be left for Donald Trump, who takes office again on January 20, 2025.

The TikTok ban is set to take place on January 19, 2025.

Although numerous users are concerned that this restriction might be legitimate, TikTok’s CEO, Shou Zi Chew, released a video on the app today discussing the potential future of TikTok within the United States.

In a recent TikTok post, Chew stated, “You’re aware that we’ve been advocating for the preservation of the constitutional freedom of speech for the over 170 million people who rely on our platform daily.

The CEO then expressed his gratitude to Trump for working with him to keep TikTok in the US.

I’d like to express my gratitude to President Trump for his determination to collaborate with us, aiming to discover a plan that ensures TikTok continues to be accessible within the U.S.

Yesterday, it emerged that Chew had been invited to Trump’s inauguration on the 20th, which is a new piece of information.

Chef Chew expressed a firm stance in favor of the First Amendment and against unjust censorship. He emphasized that TikTok serves as a platform where people can form communities, explore fresh interests, and freely express themselves – with over 7 million American businesses utilizing this space to grow their ventures and reach new customers.

In other words, if the ban on TikTok takes place this coming Sunday as planned, President Trump still retains the power to issue an executive order extending the ban for another 90 days. This would give the company additional time to sell its U.S. assets.
