Could this be Kyle & Jackie O’s new co-star? Shock jock Sandilands embraces HUGE rival as radio wars heat up

Rumours are swirling after Kyle Sandilands was seen with one of Australia’s most recognisable voices ahead of the ARN annual Upfronts in Sydney on Wednesday.

Kyle Sandilands, co-host of The Kyle and Jackie O Show with Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, was seen with former radio personality Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small on Tuesday. This was just before the network is expected to announce its programming plans for 2026.

Daily Mail has published exclusive photos showing the two former rivals warmly greeting each other with a handshake and a hug before going into a meeting.

Kyle seemed genuinely happy to see Smallzy, greeting the longtime radio host with a wide smile.

The shock meeting fuels rumours that Smallzy is making the move to KIIS drive in 2026.

Two months ago, Smallzy announced he was leaving his Nova radio show, Smallzy’s Surgery, and his last episode aired in August.

It marked the end of the evening radio DJ’s 23-year relationship with the radio network.

Smallzy being seen with Kyle follows recent changes to breakfast radio, with two shows cancelled in the past week.

ARN announced Monday that the Hayley & Max morning show will conclude on Adelaide’s Mix102.3 on December 12th.

The show has been hosted by Max Burford and Hayley Pearson since the beginning of the year.

ARN told Mediaweek that ending the Hayley & Max morning show was a strategic move to make the station stand out from others.

The station plans to launch a new, live local breakfast show in 2026. This is part of a broader effort to create more engaging and memorable content that will help the station stand out, according to a representative.

Last week, KIIS 97.3 announced that the Brisbane breakfast show hosted by Robin, Kip & Corey Oates will finish up at the end of the year. This news comes only a few months after former Brisbane Broncos player Corey Oates joined the show.

ARN revealed that the show’s final broadcast would also air on December 12.

A representative commended Robin Bailey, Kip Wightman, and Corey Oates for their dedication, innovative ideas, and efforts to connect with listeners in Brisbane.

The statement also noted that their work has been very important and will be recognized soon.

They announced the program will be replaced with a new breakfast show next year, promising it will be exciting, fun, and fast-paced.

In November 2023, Kyle and Jackie signed a landmark $200 million deal with ARN, ensuring their radio show will continue broadcasting until 2034. The deal will earn each of them a substantial $10 million salary annually.

In January, the two discussed the terms of their contracts, revealing what would happen to the show if either of them passed away.

‘I’ve got a whole page in there about what happens if you die,’ Jackie told Kyle.

I’ve actually had that for years,” she admitted to her co-host. “I think you just added it to yours this year.
