Could Oasis Reunion Come Early? Saudi Boxing Promoter Wants Liam and Noel Together at Sept. 21 Bout

As a seasoned music enthusiast with memories of the Britpop era etched deeply into my heart, I must say that the potential Oasis reunion is causing quite the stir! The Gallagher brothers have been an integral part of my musical journey, and their reunion tour announcement was like a breath of fresh air.

The Oasis reunion could come earlier than expected.

15 years ago, the Britpop-era band concluded their break last week by unveiling a summer tour across the British Isles in 2023, and all 17 shows were sold out on Saturday after an intense rush of ticket purchases by Oasis enthusiasts.

If a Saudi boxing promoter has his desired outcome, Liam and Noel Gallagher, the contentious brothers known for their roles in Oasis, might perform together much sooner than expected.

On September 21st, Liam is scheduled to perform some popular songs at Wembley Stadium in London. This event takes place before the world heavyweight championship match between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, which is expected to draw over 90,000 spectators.

On a Monday statement, Turki Alalshikh, the advisor responsible for arranging boxing matches within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressed his desire for Noel to also attend the event at Wembley Stadium.

In a conversation with talkSPORT, the head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority expressed hope that they could bring everyone together for something truly spectacular. “We’ll give it our best shot, we really will. So why not?”

Oasis’ representatives didn’t immediately respond when contacted by The Associated Press.

Wealthy Saudi Arabia has significantly increased its influence in the world of sports, attracting star soccer players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar to their territory, launching a new golf series apart from the traditional ones, and hosting numerous high-profile boxing matches by offering substantial prize money.

Demand for Oasis’ comeback shows after a 15-year hiatus overwhelmed online ticket platforms, with prices ranging from approximately $98 to an expensive $666 package which included a pre-concert event and merchandise. Every ticket was snapped up.

Some tickets are still available for the Joshua-Dubois fight.
