Corrie’s Jennie McAlpine says she hasn’t ruled out having a fourth child 16 months after welcoming daughter Doris: ‘Some people love diamonds, I love babies!’
As a dedicated follower and fan of Jennie McAlpine for many years now, I can’t help but be in awe of her love for babies and her family. Her dedication to her craft as Fizz Dobbs on Coronation Street is unparalleled, but it’s her passion as a mother that truly shines through. Jennie McAlpine has admitted she hasn’t ruled out having another child as she ‘loves babies’.
Last year in April, the actor from Coronation Street, who is 39 years old, gave birth to a daughter named Doris. She and her husband Chris Farr decided to keep the news private for about five months, enjoying their newborn stage without any public attention.
Jennie, who has been portraying Fizz Dobbs on the series since 2002, is additionally a loving mother to Albert, aged nine, and five-year-old Hilda.
“While some find joy in diamonds, I cherish babies. My life is a whirlwind, with my home and work mirror reflecting disorder, covered as they are with reminders on sticky notes. Despite this, I can’t guarantee we’ll take a break right now.” (Spoken to The Mirror)
I really enjoy the TV show “22 Kids and Counting.” Although I can’t emulate their lifestyle, there’s quite a gap from having three kids to having 22, so I wouldn’t completely rule out the possibility of adding more members to my family in the future.
“I adore my job and being a mother equally. If someone asks me at age 80, I would still find it hard to refuse more of either. Frankly, saying ‘no’ to either isn’t something that comes naturally to me.”
If Jennie hadn’t been an actress, she would have cherished the opportunity to become a midwife, and she’s already contemplating starring in a program similar to Emma Willis’ “Delivering Babies.”
As a long-time viewer of Coronation Street, I have seen my fair share of drama and twists, but this week’s encounter between Tyrone and his ex Alina at Freshco’s car park has really piqued my interest. From what I’ve gathered over the years, Tyrone’s love life has been nothing if not complicated, and it seems that Alina might just add another layer to the mix. As someone who enjoys a good soap opera plot, I can’t wait to see how this unfolds and how it affects both characters and their respective relationships moving forward.
Now that Tyrone learns he fathered a child with Alina, it complicates his connection with Fiz significantly.
In her early days on the street known as the cobbles, Alina found herself at the heart of a narrative involving contemporary slavery. This ordeal led her to relocate to the UK, having been transported here through a network of human traffickers.
When she fell pregnant, Tyrone told her he was staying by Fiz.
A devastated Alina then told the mechanic she was returning to Romania to raise their child alone.
She’s now back in Weatherfield because she’s a witness in a trial against traffickers.
In a recent interview, she expressed that her character requires additional respite from the bustling street environment. During the past two years, she’s certainly made progress in healing, but she still feels the need for more time away.
‘But we’ll see where this takes her.’
Back in the year 2001, I was just a starstruck teenager watching Coronation Street for the very first time, and there it was – that magical moment when Tyrone and Fiz shared their first onscreen kiss. Fast forward two decades, and here we are, still rooting for these iconic characters as they navigate their enduring relationship!
However they split up when after he had an affair with Alina.
After the two characters kissed, Tyrone dumped Fiz and declared his love for Alina.
He finally married Fiz on Christmas Day in 2022.
