Nicola Thorp recounted a chilling incident when her stalker stated he was near enough to detect her scent, as she shared her harrowing experience.

The 36-year-old actress, known for her role as Nicola Rubinstein in the soap opera, experienced a harrowing ordeal from 2018 to 2020. During this period, she was pursued and tormented by an individual who self-proclaimed as her ‘personal harbinger of death’.

He employed 27 distinct online pseudonyms to communicate with Nicola, sending vile messages that implied he would strangle and assault her.

In an exhilarating chat with The Sun, here’s what I shared: “Even now, I can’t tell for certain if it was a game of cat-and-mouse or a genuine stalking incident. This individual would send chilling messages, claiming he’d been tracking me on the London Underground and had managed to get so near that he could catch my scent.

I became quite fearful as the police refused to disclose his identity, since I had previously reported him and now realized that he might have been aware of my actions.

I can’t forget the moment when he shared specifics about my home through his messages, and I must admit, it gave me quite a chill.

Reflecting on a haunting message, I recall one that stood out, “I am your Grim Reaper, always by your side.” That phrase sent a shiver down my spine.

She admitted that she remains uncertain about the initial cause or origin of the incident, but the first interaction she acknowledges occurred when the stalker sent her an image of himself, specifically one showing his private parts.

In my role as an advocate for women’s rights, I always ensure that my direct messages are accessible to all, so I can promptly assist anyone who reaches out to me for support.

In a different part of the interview, the actress disclosed that it was their first encounter in person when both were in court, with her standing behind him in the security lineup.

In the chilling courtroom of Snaresbrook Crown Court, east London, December 2023, I stood resolute alongside my beloved fiancé, Nikesh Patel, as my tormentor, Ravinderjit Dhillon, a man battling schizophrenia, was brought to justice. Before the verdict of his 30-month imprisonment was delivered.

In a heartfelt testimony, the actress described her constant fear due to a stalker who took on at least 25 different personas, often identifying himself as the ‘Grim Reaper.’ He also made chilling promises to strangle and sexually assault her with malicious intent.

For years, I was worried that the mysterious person who had been harassing me might have been someone I was acquainted with,” Ms. Thorp stated to the court, according to The Sun’s report.

If you’re unaware of the identity of the person typing, they essentially take on the characteristics of every person you encounter and have encountered before.

‘All that time he knew exactly who I was and I knew nothing of him.

When I was presented with his photograph, it signified a measure of independence returning, and if by chance I encountered him on the street, that liberty would be mine to choose my path.

She expressed concern about the actions of her persistent stalker, whom she feared would harm her while she was performing in a play last April, as he was fully aware of her whereabouts.

Her fear didn’t stop when Dhillon was taken into custody, because she knew that a victim of abuse is often in greatest danger when the perpetrator feels cornered.

Dhillon began his warped campaign when he sent her an intimate photo of himself in October 2018.

In her ruling, Judge Rosa Dean stated with confidence that Dhillon seemed to have chosen Ms. Thorp not only due to her prominence as a celebrity but also because she was resolute in speaking out against disrespectful and sexist conduct.

She deemed the messages he sent to Ms. Thorp as “extremely offensive and violently threatening,” asserting that they instilled a persistent sense of dread in their recipient.
