Paula Lane, known for her role on Coronation Street, has had a baby boy! She announced the news on Instagram on Wednesday and revealed his adorable name.
I was so thrilled to see the news! The amazing actress just announced she and her husband, Tom Shaw, welcomed a baby boy named Patrick. She shared some beautiful photos of the little one, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier for them!
One photo featured Paul holding their son, and she shared in the caption that their baby boy had made their family complete.
The actress is known for her roles as Kylie Platt in Coronation Street, which she played from 2010 to 2016, and Ella Forster in Emmerdale, a role she left in December 2024.
Paula wrote: ‘Welcome to the ranch Patrick. We are all completely and utterly in love.
‘So longed for…thank you for completing us.’
Paula announced she was pregnant with her third child in August, sharing a sweet photo to reveal the news.
She shared a photo of her scan with a sweet announcement: her son and daughter were going to be big siblings!
Paula wrote: ‘Some special news to share from us @sirtomshaw.
‘Christmas just got a bit more magical. Our baby boy due December 2025.’
Paula and her husband Tom Shaw, who married in 2014, already share two children, Arthur and Penny.
I was so thrilled when Arthur came home on New Year’s Eve in 2014! And then, just two years later in July 2016, Penny joined us too – it was a wonderful time.
Paula joined the Yorkshire-set in 2023 and made her fiery debut on-screen in January 2024.
She started as a straightforward, efficient receptionist and quickly befriended Mandy Dingle (Lisa Reilly). She also developed a romantic connection with Dr. Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
In December 2024, it came out that she had left the soap opera to pursue other projects, according to The Sun.
The publication said her profile on the Spotlight website was updated to show she would finish filming in February 2025.
Ella’s past came to light shortly after she joined the soap opera, revealing she’d accidentally killed a friend when she was a child. This event haunted her and made it difficult to move forward with her life.
She was later found to be pregnant with Liam’s baby, even though he was in love with Chas Dingle (played by Lisa Pargeter).
She sadly lost the baby as Liam grows his future with Chas.
Paula is also known for her role as Kylie Platt on Coronation Street. Her character was famously killed off in 2016 when she was stabbed by Clayton Hibbs outside a kebab shop.
She died in the arms of her husband, David Platt, played by Jack P. Shepherd in final scenes.
Following Kylie’s tragic death, David went on to find love with Clayton’s mum Shona Ramsey.
Following her role on Corrie, Paula went on to appear in Call The Midwife and played Lauren during the UK tour of Kinky Boots.
