The popular game “Cookie Run: Kingdom” is about to roll out its latest update titled “A Game of Truth and Deceit“, starting from the maintenance period around 06:00 – 10:00 (GMT+9). This exciting update, scheduled for release on January 15th, will introduce a fresh storyline, new cookies, events, permanent content, and much more!

Certain sections of the upcoming update might undergo modifications prior to its launch. The complete list of these changes will be detailed in the patch notes following the successful completion of the update. For now, expect a wealth of fresh content including new Cookies, Episodes, Limited Events, Toppings, Treasures, Quality-of-Life updates, and much more!

Cookie Run: Kingdom Version 6.0 Update: New Cookie Characters

Beast Cookie: Shadow Milk Cookie

  • Rarity: Beast
  • Type: Magic

Description of Ability: Shadow Milk Cookie initiates a deceptive performance, focusing on manipulation. The ability, called Puppet Show, targets the enemy with the least health (prioritizing non-Safeguarded Cookies). If there are no other viable targets, even Shadow Milk Cookies can be targeted. For the duration of this performance, both the chosen target and nearby enemies will endure periodic damage.

The performance concludes with a spectacular Grand Finale, which dishes out damage to every opponent and the amount of damage depends on whom the Puppet Show is targeting. If this targeted enemy falls before the Puppet Show ends, a Soul Phantom will manifest in its place. During the remaining duration of the Puppet Show, any harm inflicted on the Soul Phantom will be added as extra damage to the Grand Finale.

If the character called Shadow Milk Cookie is vanquished, it transforms into its Shadow Form. In this form, it calls forth its Puppets to deceive opponents and then escapes to another dimension to acquire the Power of Deceit. The Shadow Form’s influence persists until the Puppets are destroyed. At the onset of combat, Shadow Milk Cookie summons the Eye of Truth. The more debuffs inflicted upon the team, including Shadow Milk Cookie himself, the more stacks of Truth the Eye of Truth accumulates. Each time Shadow Milk Cookie uses its abilities, it adds additional stacks of Truth to the Eye of Truth.

When we reach a particular stack count, the Eye of Truth will clear all debuffs from our team and boost Shadow Milk Cookie’s damage output, but it will also increase the amount of damage Shadow Milk Cookie takes. Once Shadow Milk Cookie acquires the Power of Deceit, the Eye of Truth transforms into the Eye of Deceit, periodically accumulating new Truth stacks. At a specific stack count, it will release a Tenet of Deceit, dealing damage and resetting the Taint duration on the target (damage relative to maximum HP is capped at 300,000).

Epic Cookie: Candy Apple Cookie

  • Rarity: Epic
  • Type: Bomber

Skill Summary: In a powerful swing, Candy Apple Cookie strikes an oversized lollipop, causing a recoil. Enemies struck are weakened with lower Attack (ATK) and Defense (DEF), and take extra damage. Upon shattering, the lollipop bestows Health Shields to all allies, boosting their ATK. Scattered Candy Shards inflict further damage on enemies, intensifying the damage they receive.

Episode 7: Spire of Shadows

From stage 7-4 onwards, I’ve noticed the ‘Confusion’ effect kicking in. Each attack contributes to this ‘Confusion meter’. When it’s fully charged, it triggers a ‘Distortion’, lowering our team’s attack power and causing us to take additional damage based on our maximum health with each hit taken. However, during this chaos, the ‘Shadow Milk Cookie’ and ‘Candy Apple Cookie’ seem to thrive! Their attacks get stronger and they receive healing with each strike they endure.

In specific phases, the Deceit Domain becomes active. Every second, the Deceit Domain gauge fills up. Once the gauge is full, a nasty trick is unleashed, causing more damage to be received. However, Shadow Milk Cookie and Candy Apple Cookie will take less damage when this nasty trick is in effect.

Tactical Skill “Other-realm Manifestation.”

From stages 7 through 17, you can employ the tactical skill known as “Cross-realm Materialization.” This ability transforms a specific area into a reflection of another realm. The energy from this transformation repeatedly harms your adversaries. Simultaneously, the Shadow Milk Cookie and Candy Apple Cookie gain the Distortion status. Other allies’ Confusion and Distortion gauges are reset. If you have Shadow Milk Cookie in your team, your opponents will instantly be affected by Taint.

Pure Vanilla Cookie’s Journey

In this updated version, play through the fresh episode, gather ‘Pure Vanilla Cookie’s recollections, and finish his journey set. The release of Episode 7 will enable you to dispatch Bear Jelly Balloon excursions there. To unlock these expeditions, make sure to upgrade your Bear Jelly Balloon and conquer the episode on Story mode or a tougher setting initially. Enjoy your adventure!

Enhance the Balloon for an expedition into the Beast-Yeast realm, and successfully complete levels 1 to 30 (Beast-Yeast Stage) to unlock the Bear Jelly Balloon upgrade. The quality of Cookies involved in the journey determines the acquisition of Yeast Ore. You can find a total of 60 pieces of Deceit Yeast Ore. Gather these to boost the quantity of Rainbow Pearls you can get at the Trade Harbor.

New Resonant Toppings: Deceitful Toppings

In the latest update, we’ve introduced new Resonant Toppings that can be used exclusively with certain Cookies. These new Toppings can be attached to both the Shadow Milk Cookie and the Candy Apple Cookie. The set effect of these Toppings will become active, regardless of whether they are standard or Resonant Toppings, as long as all equipped Toppings belong to the same set.

When the power of the Bonus attribute for Resonant Toppings is boosted, these Resonant Toppings will have a greater starting Bonus Stat value compared to standard Toppings. Moreover, the extra bonus effects that Resonant Toppings provide may vary from those offered by regular Toppings.

Boss Rush

Test your skills against formidable foes! Organize a group of potent Cookies to conquer these bosses sequentially. Your mission is to vanquish the stage’s enemy boss to progress to the next level. Each level can be conquered through multiple tries-the boss’s health will not revert with each subsequent attempt. When the boss’s health falls below a specific threshold, the Rage effect will trigger, adding an extra layer of difficulty. Experiment with various battle tactics to subdue the boss!

In the game “Boss Rush”, certain managers may enter a ‘Rage’ mode. You can find specifics about this mode on the ‘Boss Info’ screen. Managers with Rage have their Health Points (HP) divided into segments, and when their HP reaches a particular limit, the ‘Rage Effect’ is triggered. This effect changes the managers’ weaknesses and attack patterns. To overcome each boss efficiently, make sure to use Synergy! Acquire ‘Boss Rush Tickets’ to participate in Boss Rush. You can also obtain more tickets by using Crystals or watching an advertisement.

Alter the makeup of your team to trigger potent collaboration benefits, known as Synergy Effects. These benefits will enhance your ability to fight each boss more effectively; feel free to tinker with your team’s composition to unlock them! Additionally, keep an eye out for unanticipated team configurations that will trigger special effects when battling specific bosses. Clues may help you discover these combinations!

Boost the intensity of your “Resistance” in Boss Rush mode to enhance your strength against tougher foe bosses. Gather “Resistance Lances” to amplify your “Resistance”. Open “Battle Equipment Boxes” within the Boss Rush lobby and conquer boss stages to receive more “Resistance Lances”.

Boost your rewards based on the total number of stars your team’s Cookies accumulate (including their Grade, Ascension, and Awakening). Each Cookie can contribute a maximum of 10 Stars, and Awakened Stars are added to the total along with the standard Grade and Ascension Stars. Beast Stars are worth double. You can find Battle Supply Chests in the Boss Rush lobby to open them.

These chests contain Suppression Spears, which help increase Suppression Levels, and Challenge Coins, which can be spent at the Boss Rush Store. Over time, earned rewards build up so that players who started playing this game mode recently can still gather the same amount of items. Accumulate Challenge Coins and spend them in the Boss Rush Store to acquire different items.

After conquering every level, I invite myself to test my skills by completing each one faster and setting a new personal best. My overall rank is determined by summing up all the individual scores from each level. If I want to improve my score, I can replay any stage! Beating my old record will result in the updated time being recognized. Each attempt to beat my previous record will require 3 Boss Rush Tickets.

Monster Menace and Marathon Event

Starting from this point forward, the Monster Menace will make frequent appearances. Overpower the Monster Menace and you’ll receive treasure chests! Additionally, be on the lookout for Monster Menace in every Beast-Yeast episode. Successfully complete Monster Menace stages to get chests filled with bonus items like Soulstones, Beascuits, and more.

Experience the thrill of the Monster Menace Marathon! As fresh Beast-Yeast episodes roll out, you’ll earn extra bonuses for finishing Monster Menace levels. During the event period, complete a specified number of Monster Menace stages to secure your event rewards. Additionally, even after the event concludes, you may receive random reward chests based on odds.
