In the latest update, version 6.5 ‘Battlefield of Passion’, of the game Cookie Run: Kingdom, a new form of the beloved character Hollyberry Cookie has been introduced – the Awakened Hollyberry Cookie, or as some might say, the Ancient Hollyberry. Here’s a guide on how to acquire, build, and level up this special Cookie Run: Kingdom character, Hollyberry Cookie (Aegis).
Awakened Ancient Cookies represent an upgrade for the original characters, introducing new skills, gameplay mechanics, equipment sets, character models, and background enhancements. After you awaken your Ancient Cookie, it will no longer possess its initial abilities.
Reviving an ‘Ancient Cookie’ functions much like elevating it. To awaken their Cookie, players must gather 20 Soulprisms (equivalent to Soulstones) or try their luck with the temporary Nether-gacha for a single copy of the Cookie. Remember that Awakened Cookies are simply advanced versions of the original Ancients and not independent entities.
How to obtain Hollyberry Cookie (Aegis) in Cookie Run: Kingdom
Hollyberry Cookie (Aegis) is an old or classic cookie, meaning you can acquire it through the Gacha system. Notably, cookies of Legendary rarity and those above, such as this one, have their own Limited Rate-up Banner when they are first introduced. Players will need to accumulate special wish currency in order to try for these rare cookies on the banner.
- Rainbow Shell Gallery: Located inside Touc’s Trade Harbor after you upgrade it. The SoulPrisms can only be exchanged for the Rainbow Pearls currency, which can be obtained by shipping various goods through the Ship Harbor. You can obtain 1x SoulPrism Cookie. The Shop resets every 2 Days, so players have to keep a lookout for which SoulPrism Cookies come out every rotation.

The Hollyberry Cookie serves as your team’s formidable defensive powerhouse, yet with an added dash of style. She fearlessly storms into combat, her shield acting as a protective buffer that absorbs a significant portion of the damage intended for other Cookies, except for harmful effects like Poison or Burn.
As she fights, she safeguards her team by minimizing Critical Damage they receive and reducing their vulnerability to damage debuffs. In the process, she accumulates two resources: Seeds of Life and Steelbound Passion. When she sustains sufficient damage, these seeds transform into the Berry of Life, which regenerates her health gradually and increases her resistance to harm.
In the process of amassing sufficient Steelbound Passion (equivalent to taking significant damage), she enters a state known as Steelbound Guardian. During this phase, she becomes invulnerable, recovers health substantially, resets her ability cooldowns, and significantly strengthens her final attack, depending on the amount of damage sustained.
Apart from her standard abilities, this Cookie boasts unique advantages as a Steel-type character. She deals extra damage in a certain area, bypasses some damage based on her maximum health, and heals more when other Steel-type characters are low on health. Essentially, she’s tough to defeat, offers protection to the team, and grows stronger as she takes more damage (13 seconds cooldown).
