ITV has ended the sitcom Piglets after it ran for two seasons. The show first aired in 2024 and, despite receiving criticism from both viewers and critics, was unexpectedly renewed for a second season.
This comedy series takes place at a police training college and centers on six clumsy new recruits and their two supervising officers. Sarah Parish and Mark Heap head the cast, alongside Rebecca Humphries and Ricky Champ.
So, I was really into Piglets when the first season dropped in 2024, and I was hyped when they brought it back earlier this year with another six episodes. But sadly, it looks like that’s it – the show’s been cancelled, and those recent episodes were the last ones. Bummer!

ITV has thanked the cast and crew for their dedication to the show, praising their work in creating memorable characters and storylines. All episodes from the first two seasons are now available to stream on ITVX.
Even before the first episode, the comedy show sparked outrage. The Police Federation of England and Wales called its title “disgusting” and “deeply offensive,” arguing it disrespected officers who put their lives on the line to keep people safe.

Mukund Krishna, CEO of the Police Federation of England and Wales, stated they would be contacting Ofcom and ITV about the issue. The series prompted 106 complaints to Ofcom in its first week, and another 94 the week after.
ITV responded to the criticism by explaining that the title wasn’t meant to be offensive. They said it was a playful way to highlight the trainees’ youth and innocence.
The sitcom got a mixed reaction from audiences, earning a 5.1/10 rating on IMDb. One viewer gave it a very low score of 1/10, calling the writing and directing “poor” and describing the show as a disaster.

One viewer called the show “terrible,” saying the acting was poor, the plot didn’t make sense, and the idea of accepting these characters as police recruits was completely absurd.
Many fans enjoyed “Piglets,” praising its humor and lightheartedness. One viewer said the show is delightfully silly, which is exactly what makes it so appealing – everyone loves a good laugh from jokes, puns, and clever references. The show also features a diverse and engaging cast of characters.
Piglets aired on ITV1 and ITVX.
