As a seasoned MMA enthusiast with over two decades of watching fights under my belt, I can’t help but feel the excitement building for the upcoming Dana White’s Contender Series Season 8, Episode 2. The UFC APEX in Las Vegas is about to witness ten fighters battling it out for the highly coveted UFC contract.


The upcoming episode 2 of Dana White’s Contender Series Season 8 is set for Tuesday, August 20. This time it’s happening live from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. In the first episode, a total of four contracts were awarded among five fights. Next week, another ten contenders will battle it out with the ultimate goal of securing a coveted UFC contract.

The main event of this occasion features a 170-pound matchup between Pat Pytlik from Canada (9-1) and Andreas Gustafsson of Sweden (10-2). Pytlik has emerged victorious in his last two bouts, both ending in the first round while competing under the Unified MMA organization. Similarly, Gustafsson has also claimed victory in his previous two contests.

In this main event, we have a fierce battle between Rizvan Kuniev from Russia (with a record of 12 wins and 2 losses) and Hugo Cunha from Brazil. They will compete for the heavyweight division in our show. Additionally, you’ll see two men’s bantamweight contests and one 185-pound matchup in the episode as well.

On Monday morning, Cortavius Romious and Michael Imperato captivated spectators with their intense showdown at the weigh-ins, making their upcoming match on Tuesday night one not to miss.

In this upcoming bout, Cam Rowston from Australia will square off against Torrez Finney. Rowston has been undefeated since 2019 and intends to carry his winning spree further against Finney. On the other hand, Finney remains unbeaten following a first-round victory in May.
