Alter Ego vs Aurora Gaming: M7 Knockout Stage Day 2 Recap
Game 1
Aurora Gaming started strong, aiming to surprise Alter Ego. They successfully took the first three Turtle objectives, gaining an early lead. But Alter Ego’s Dalvin “Hijumee” Putra began to dominate team fights with his Kimmy, and they won a key fight around the first Lord, gaining a gold advantage of over 1,500. Aurora quickly responded, increasing their aggression. By the 17-minute mark, they won the second Lord fight decisively, wiping out Alter Ego with well-timed attacks from Jan “Domengkite” Delmundo’s Freya and Edward “Edward” Dapadap’s Lapu-Lapu. With Alter Ego defeated, Aurora pushed forward and secured their first win of the series.
Game 2
Alter Ego turned the tables in Game 2, immediately taking control. Aurora’s Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto had trouble gaining resources as he was constantly pressured by Leomord (Muhammad “Yazukee” Wahyudi) and Hilda (Alexander “alekk” Owen). By 10 minutes, Alter Ego had a significant gold advantage of over 6,000. Aurora tried to come back, with Syauki “Nino” Sumarno leading the charge on Yu Zhong, but couldn’t find a way through Alter Ego’s defenses. Under immense pressure, Aurora eventually fell apart, allowing Alter Ego to push for the win around the 13-minute mark. Arifudin “Arfy” Dingarai finished the game with a remarkable performance on Granger, securing a multi-kill despite having no kills earlier, and leaving Demonkite as the only one left to defend. This victory tied the series for Alter Ego.
Game 3
Alter Ego drafted a strong hero, Nino, for their EXP lane player in Game 3, giving them early control of that area. However, Aurora consistently won team battles thanks to their tough frontline composed of Lapu-Lapu and Fredrinn. By 10 minutes, Alter Ego was at a significant disadvantage, having lost key towers in the Mid and Gold lanes and failing to gain any major advantages. With a large lead, Aurora secured the Lord at 13 minutes and quickly destroyed most of Alter Ego’s remaining towers, leaving only the EXP lane tower remaining. At 16 minutes, Aurora finished the game with another decisive teamfight, eliminating the entire Alter Ego team and securing a clear victory.
Game 4
Okay, so in Game 4, Alter Ego went for a teamfight setup. Yazukee locked in Fanny, and our carry, Arfy, picked Granger, who scales really well late game. It paid off big time early on – Arfy absolutely popped off with a 5/0/5 by just 8 minutes! Yazukee was also all over the map, constantly pressuring Aurora and forcing them to play defensively. They got stuck in their base, unable to grab any resources while we took over the map. Even though they lost all their turrets, they were surprisingly good at defending their base. But the game changer happened around 17 minutes when they snagged the Lord. They totally aced us in the teamfight that followed and then just pushed straight down mid lane, closing out the series with a tough win.
