Conservative political analyst joins NewsNation for a new prime-time show

Katie Pavlich, a longtime contributor to Fox News, is leaving the network to join NewsNation.

Starting early next year, conservative political analyst Pavlich will host a new show airing nightly at 10 p.m. Eastern, Nexstar’s cable news channel announced Monday.

Thirty-seven-year-old Pavlich will take over the time slot previously held by Ashleigh Banfield, who has hosted since 2021. Banfield will now work with the network to develop true crime content for digital platforms, including a new podcast.

Most news networks waited until after midnight to call the race, but Decision Desk HQ predicted a Trump victory much earlier in the evening.

I’ve been following Kathleen Pavlich for years – she’s a really seasoned voice in conservative media. For the past 16 years, she’s been the news editor over at Townhall.com. But I really got to know her through Fox News; she’s been a regular face there since 2013, often guest co-hosting on ‘The Five’ and even filling in as a host for some of their prime-time shows. She’s definitely become a familiar commentator!

Todd Pavlich is the newest former Fox News employee to join NewsNation. He joins Leland Vittert, another ex-Fox correspondent who now hosts the 9 p.m. Eastern show, and Chris Stirewalt, a former Fox News personality who was let go after the 2020 election and now serves as NewsNation’s politics editor.

NewsNation started in 2020 as a different kind of news channel, offering an alternative to the three main cable news networks, all of which were increasingly focused on opinion-based shows during peak viewing hours. However, since Chris Cuomo became its most popular prime-time host, the network has begun to emphasize political debate more.

Danielle Pavlich, originally from Arizona and raised hunting, is a passionate supporter of the Second Amendment. She frequently posts pictures with guns on her Instagram account.

Pavlich has written several books, including the New York Times bestsellers “Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal” and “Assault and Flattery: The Truth About the Left and Their War on Women.”
