During a disagreement between Nick Reiner and his father at Conan O’Brien’s holiday party this weekend, guests allegedly attempted to call the police, but O’Brien stepped in to de-escalate the situation.
Reports indicate a heated argument between Nick and Rob at a party hosted by O’Brien reached a point where someone thought they needed to call 911. This happened shortly before Rob and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were reportedly killed by their son. According to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail, someone was on the verge of calling the police, but the host intervened, stating that the party was at his home and he wouldn’t be making the call. This prevented another guest from contacting law enforcement.
A father and son had a heated argument at the party, and it escalated to the point where someone considered calling the police. However, the host, Conan, intervened and refused to involve the authorities, successfully convincing them to resolve the issue privately.
A second source confirmed the story, adding that several people at the party were worried about Nick’s behavior. Many guests reportedly felt he needed to be evaluated by mental health professionals due to how rapidly the situation worsened. While the source understood why O’Brien hesitated to call the police, they believed it was necessary because things were spiraling out of control.
As the situation worsened, someone suggested calling the police, and the conversation turned to the possibility of having him evaluated for mental health concerns. Everyone was hesitant to involve the authorities and risk making things worse, but the argument between Rob and Nick had become very intense.
At the party, Rob apparently told some friends he was truly scared of his son and worried he might be harmed. He reportedly said, “I’m terrified of Nick. It’s hard to admit, but I’m afraid of my own son. I think he could hurt me.” These are also said to have been the last things he spoke before leaving O’Brien’s party.
