Complexity defeat Virtus.Pro to start IEM Cologne campaign

As a seasoned esports analyst with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the match between Complexity and Virtus.Pro at IEM Cologne was nothing short of thrilling! The American squad showcased their prowess on Vertigo, with Elige leading the charge like a modern-day Paul Bunyan felling digital trees. His 17 frags were a testament to his unrelenting spirit and skill, making it clear that he’s still got what it takes to compete with the best in CS2.

In the heat of three intense maps at IEM Cologne, I, a member of Complexity, outplayed Virtus.Pro. Our North American squad dominated throughout the series, barely letting Overtime decide the victor before we crushed VP to seal the deal and finish the series. Here’s our roster for IEM Cologne:

Vertigo – Complexity outclass Virtus.Pro – 13-6

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got to say, our CS:GO trio from Complexity has been giving top teams a run for their money at IEM Cologne. Leading the charge is none other than the legendary Elige, who’s still flying the American flag high with his incredible gameplay. This match was a testament to what happens when Elige is unleashed!

In the game, after scoring a 9-3 lead, there was a change to a complex round known as a “Complexity pistol conversion” that sealed the deal for the match point. Valorant players could only manage two more rounds before Elige’s impressive 17 kills secured the map victory.

Dust2 – Virtus.Pro survive Overtime – 16-14

In the thrilling opening act of Dust2, Complexity snatched the pistols and Valiance seized forcebuys, creating an advantageous early position for them. Despite my own resilience, Valiance managed to establish a commanding 5-2 lead. Elige once again stood strong, defending B and even grabbing the second AWP, pushing our score to 7-5.

In this Counter-Strike match, Virtus.Pro’s player, Virtus.Pro, moved towards the B site, while Team Liquid (coL) successfully defended A, making it easier for them to hold that position. Electronic from Team Liquid demonstrated remarkable skill with multiple high-kill sprees, even managing a 4-kill streak on the A defense. This performance brought Virtus.Pro back to parity in the game. For the first time in the series, Virtus.Pro seized the lead. As the match progressed, both teams played effectively on the defensive side, with each player contributing significantly to their team’s success.

In the 21st round, coL were defending their CT base. VP tried to attack them from the A site, resulting in coL capturing their 11th round. This prompted VP to take a timeout. However, whatever Xoma suggested during the timeout didn’t help turn the situation around. CoL then secured the match point by taking the A site. Despite this, VP didn’t give up and managed to extend the game into Overtime. Complexity finally claimed their 13th round, but in Overtime, VP maintained control and ultimately won on Dust2.

Anubis – Complexity close the series out

Following the nail-biting finish on Dust2, I found myself rooting for Anubis as they regrouped from the North American side. VP secured the pistol round victory, but Elige and floppy retaliated with a pair of impressive clutches to initiate Cloud9’s CT offensive. With hallzerk’s AWP dominating, Complexity skillfully amassed an 8-4 score, coming very close to securing the win at half time.

After the teams changed positions, Virtus.Pro failed to mount a defense. Under the leadership of JT, their team dominated the entire map and secured a 13-5 victory, thus claiming the series triumph.

Complexity through to Upper Bracket at IEM Cologne

At IEM Cologne, complexity has advanced to the higher tier due to their victory against Virtus.Pro. They’ll encounter either MOUZ or Falcons next to compete for a spot in the playoffs. On the other hand, Virtus.Pro is now in the lower bracket and will be determined by who loses between MOUZ and Falcons, as their tournament outcome depends on that result.
