Junior is likely to stand-in for Complexity at the pinnacle event in June.
As a gamer, I’ve learned that Complexity’s Norwegian sniper, Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli, is facing some uncertainty about participating in the upcoming BLAST Austin Major. To ensure we’re covered, they’ve brought on Paytyn “junior” Johnson as an extra team member for this event.
Regarding Complexity, they’ve made a coaching change by bringing in Eric “adreN” Hoag, and this seems to be a permanent move. However, the main focus is now on whether hallzerk will participate with Complexity at the Austin Major scheduled for June.
Visa issues may claim first victim as hallzerk in doubt of attending Austin

On May 7th, team manager Graham Pitt announced via a Twitch stream on Complexity that we may need to bring in a substitute player for the major tournament due to delays in processing hallzerk’s P1 visa.
As a gamer eagerly awaiting my turn at the upcoming tournament, I learned that extra documentation is required to finalize the accepted visa application, but unfortunately, there seems to be no method to speed up the process. With less than a month left before the event kicks off, it’s becoming increasingly uncertain whether I’ll receive the visa in time.
It appears that the first team running into visa difficulties for the Austin Major is Complexity. However, it’s possible that other teams may face similar issues before the tournament in Texas commences. Various esports teams have encountered challenges with the intricate visa process when trying to participate in U.S. events. As a result, many players from multiple games, including Apex Legends and Dota 2, have found it difficult to obtain permission to enter the country and attend the tournament.
Complexity has been on a roll lately, but their fortunes took a turn for the worse when Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski left the team at the start of 2025. Given his significant impact on the North American squad in recent months, many speculated that they would struggle without him. However, after a brief adjustment phase in February and March, CoL managed to finish fourth at PGL Bucharest, defying expectations.
Previously associated with an American who used to represent Nouns, Junior is currently on standby. In 2022, he had a brief tenure with Complexity. If necessary, he will reconnect with his former teammates John “JT” Theodosiou and Michael “Grim” Wince.

Notable CS:GO player adreN has joined Complexity Gaming, stepping into the spot vacated by Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen who left in March. AdreN previously held a coaching position with Liquid during their successful 2019 campaign; most recently, he served as coach and general manager for another team before joining Complexity.
If a team isn’t participating in PGL Astana or IEM Dallas, it means their upcoming event will be a major tournament itself. Although there is still time for visa approval, they have a substitute player prepared in case of any further issues.
