“Completely-obsessed!” Netflix’s hit coming-of-age drama packed with plot twists is back next week

I’m so excited! Netflix is bringing back Heartbreak High next week for its last season. It’s seriously such a good show – bold, heartwarming, and really important for queer representation. This time around, Amerie (Ayesha Madon) and all her friends are getting ready to graduate, but things definitely aren’t going to be easy. The show promises a bumpy ride to the finish line, and I can’t wait to see what happens!

Season three follows Hartley High’s seniors as they prepare to graduate and start their adult lives. However, a prank meant to get back at someone takes a dark turn, and Amerie and her friends are forced to hide what happened to protect their futures.

The 90s-set series, which focuses on Amerie and her lively group of friends, quickly captured viewers’ attention when it first aired. One fan on Rotten Tomatoes perfectly summed up the feeling, asking: “Can a show just make you completely obsessed and overjoyed at the same time?”

Viewers loved the show’s second season, calling it just as exciting as the first. One fan said they were surprised by all the unexpected turns in the story and that the season lived up to their expectations.

The final season of Heartbreak High is promising exciting new developments, but the trailer also suggests it will resolve the unresolved situation with Amerie and Malakai (Thomas Weatherall), and explore the ups and downs of their relationship.

What to Read Next

Okay, so the story ended on a major cliffhanger. Malakai literally hopped on a plane to Switzerland, but before he left, he wrote Amerie a letter confessing his feelings and left it in her locker. The problem? The school caught fire, and her locker… well, it burned down with the letter inside. Seriously, what a way to end things!

In a recent announcement, Netflix’s Director of Content for Australia and New Zealand, Que Minh Luu, revealed that the main character never received the letter, but viewers will soon find out what happens as a result.

We at Netflix are incredibly proud to be finishing Heartbreak High with a final season. It’s been wonderful collaborating with the talented team behind this beloved Australian teen show, and we’re thrilled to share its stories, culture, and humor with fans both in Australia and around the globe. Get ready for the final celebrations!

Asher Yasbincek will be back as Harper, Amerie’s best friend, for the final season. Joining them will be Chloé Hayden as Quinni and James Majoos as Darren, Amerie’s other close friends. Fans will also be happy to see Will McDonald return as Darren’s boyfriend, Ca$h, for more of their sweet moments in the show’s last season.

Heartbreak High season 3 returns on Wednesday 25 March. Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream now.

The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-colour magazine dedicated to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
