Sheridan Smith, known for her BAFTA-winning performances, will star in the new ITV thriller, Two Birds. The series, which ITV calls both compelling and exhilarating, will be filmed in Western Australia and is a collaboration with the Australian streaming service Stan. Additional cast members have also been announced.
The new drama, Two Birds, stars Sheridan Smith as Izzie Cornwell, a British police officer who moves to the town of Dugdale hoping for a fresh start in Australia. Recently widowed, Izzie also wants to reconnect with family, but it seems her new life won’t be straightforward.
The new drama will feature PC Cornwell teaming up with her new boss, a detective from Perth played by Stephen Peacocke, to solve a murder case.
The investigation gets more complicated when the victim is revealed to be connected to the well-known Baxter crime family, headed by the powerful Mrs. Baxter, portrayed by Judy Davis. Mrs. Baxter is determined to shield her family and find out what really happened, and she strongly pushes for answers.
However, the night before Izzie starts working on the case, a final, carefree celebration takes a terrible turn. A quick decision has lasting and irreversible effects, leaving Izzie with a secret she’s determined to hide at all costs.
