Community Star Joins Suits LA!
I’m excited to share that one of the beloved actors from “Community” will be gracing our screens soon, this time as a part of NBC’s fresh new series. Mark your calendars for May 4th, as that’s when their episode is scheduled to air!
In the upcoming Suits LA episode, it’s revealed that Yvette Nicole Brown will portray an alternate version of herself. The storyline involves Ted needing to fulfill a demand from client Patton Oswalt, who is also appearing as himself in the episode. Simultaneously, Amanda (Maggie Grace) and Erica (Lex Scott Davis) work together to represent a teen celebrity, who stands accused of assaulting her father.
In the upcoming episode, I find myself grappling with the aftermath of Stuart’s (Josh McDermitt) accident, while an old tale unfolds with Ted and Eddie (Carson A. Egan) embarking on a trip to LA for Stuart’s bachelor party. The specifics about Brown’s role in this episode aren’t fully disclosed in the synopsis, but it seems probable that she will be integral to the primary storyline featuring Oswalt.
I’m thrilled to share that the new series “Suits LA,” which was initially aired on USA Network’s hit franchise earlier this year in February, will make its way onto our screens on May 4th via NBC. If you can’t wait till then, it’ll also be available for streaming a day later on Peacock. This series is masterfully created and written by Aaron Korsh, the genius behind the original “Suits.
Brown is recognized for her portrayal of Shirley Bennett on the hit NBC sitcom “Community,” which spanned six seasons and more than one hundred episodes. The show garnered a devoted fanbase and critical praise, earning a Primetime Emmy Award. There have been suggestions that it could return for additional seasons, with star Joel McHale hinting at potential revival in the future.
Suits LA Season 2 Remains in Limbo Amid Low Viewership Numbers
As a dedicated movie enthusiast, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that stars like Brown and Oswalt will lend their talent to boost the audience for Suits LA, hopefully securing another season for this series. The latest news suggests that NBC is still considering the legal drama, despite its ratings not quite meeting expectations. This could be partly because the Suits franchise has been thriving on streaming platforms.
The TV series “Suits” initially aired on USA Network from 2011-2019 over nine seasons, but its popularity soared to unprecedented heights when it was introduced to Netflix in 2023, eventually claiming the title of the most-watched show on the platform that year. However, the spin-off “Suits LA” has struggled to attract a consistent audience for NBC, even with several original cast members returning. The critical response to the show has generally been divided as well.
Oswalt and Brown’s appearances on the show will carry on the traditional practice from Suits, where famous personalities portray themselves, potentially contributing significantly to securing another season for the series.
On May 4, catch Brown’s episode of Suits LA on NBC, or stream it on Peacock the next day.
