Comedian Kat Timpf welcomes first child 15 hours after breast cancer diagnosis

Comedian Kate Tempest has announced the birth of her first son. In addition, she has disclosed that she’s been diagnosed with a small amount of breast cancer.

On Tuesday, the panelist for “Gutfeld!” and Fox News commentator shared two pieces of news through an unorthodox method – a birth announcement – which she posted on her social media accounts.

Last week marked the birth of my first child. Approximately fifteen hours prior to labor, I received a diagnosis of breast cancer,” Timpf, aged 36, shared in a statement, announcing the arrival of her son with husband Cameron Friscia, a retired Army Ranger whom she married in 2021.

Timpf reassured her followers, stating that her cancer was identified as Stage 0. Her doctor is optimistic, believing it’s highly unlikely that the cancer has spread elsewhere.

*Recently, the multitalented individual who is both a commentator, stand-up comedian, and podcast host, has announced her first pregnancy, while also releasing her second book, titled “I Used to Like You Until… (How Binary Thinking Separates Us),” on September 10.*

Don’t panic. It’s essentially a small amount of cancer.” Notably, she didn’t specify the type of breast cancer she was dealing with in her message. She opted for a double mastectomy as the most appropriate course of action.

“Still, it was not a chill day,” she wrote. “I mean to say the least!”

Originally, Timpf had shared her pregnancy news in July. She expressed that on the day before her delivery, which was over a week past her estimated due date, she found herself intensely focused on taking any action possible to expedite the baby’s arrival. However, by mid-afternoon, instead of being preoccupied with labor, she was walking around from one appointment to another, discussing strategies for removing cancerous tissue. Suddenly, in the dead of night, she unexpectedly went into labor naturally.

Timpf shared that hospitals, being places where people work who are accustomed to tough and challenging situations, are ideal audiences for dark humor. As an author whose debut book explored the healing power of jokes during difficult times, this setting seemed particularly fitting for him. Almost immediately after his son was born, he joked with the nurses about what a birth announcement in his specific case might look like.

Mom and the newborn are generally healthy, but there might be concerns regarding Mom’s ongoing cancer treatment.”

“After nursing, the baby seems to be growing at a slower pace due to Mom having undergone a double mastectomy.

The author of “You Can’t Joke About That” and “I Used to Like You Until…” expressed that the upcoming three months of her maternity leave will not turn out as expected because she’s still adjusting to her new life circumstances.

In the process of exploring motherhood and dealing with a new cancer diagnosis, I’ve come to appreciate every moment. It’s fortunate that we discovered the cancer early on; it’s a blessing to be my son’s mother. Truly, I may be biased, but this incredible kid is simply amazing – and not just because he might have potentially saved my life.

In a heartfelt manner, the “Sincerely, Kat” host expressed gratitude to her audience for their continued support, acknowledging that this recently unforeseen phase in her life is particularly challenging.

Cheers to strength, to discovering wonders amidst turbulence, and to locating laughter and optimism during the most challenging times.

As a passionate cinephile, I found myself moved by a heartfelt revelation penned in July for Fox News – a piece where this captivating artist announced her pregnancy and clarified her political stance as a libertarian. Intriguingly, she admitted that she had never yearned for children until she met her soulmate.

She expressed in her writing that encountering him made it seem enticing, and here are the reasons why: One part of it was a sense of emptiness she felt in her life. Another reason was sheer curiosity. A third factor was a quiet realization that she might have exhausted all other possibilities. Lastly, in a somewhat humorous way, she thought it would be amusing.

In an interview with The Times last September, Timpf candidly discussed her pregnancy, sharing that for quite some time, she had faced comments about not having children.

For a long time, I’ve been receiving hateful remarks… then, I became pregnant, and it seemed as though this was exactly what these individuals desired, didn’t it? Yet, I wasn’t doing it for their satisfaction. However, now, some of the same people are telling me, “Could you please stop talking about your pregnancy already?” she expressed.

Some folks will always find reasons to criticize, regardless of the situation. The statement, ‘You’re not the only one who has ever been pregnant,’ doesn’t sit well with me. While I understand it logically, this is my first pregnancy, and it’s a unique experience for me! Life can often feel mundane, but having a baby brings a fresh sense of awe and amazement that I haven’t felt in a long time. Some days, I just want to embrace this joy and excitement about expecting a child, even if others are resentful of my happiness.
