On a happy note, the comedian shared on Instagram that he is engaged to his longtime partner, Jack Stratton-Smith, as of Monday.

The couple cuddled up in a series of sweet images taken alongside a stunning water view. 

After Jack knelt down and offered a surprised Joel a large, golden ring adorned with a dark gemstone, they exchanged a passionate kiss.

The comedian announced in his post that he is betrothed to his dearest friend and soulmate, as captured in the pictures.

The loved-up couple were quickly congratulated by their celebrity friends.

The radio host, 34, has been dating the actor and underwear model, 31, for seven years.

Joel previously admitted that the way wooed his handsome beau is hardly conventional.    

During an interview with Today Extra, he confessed to ‘stalking’ his boyfriend for four years before they even met.  

‘I stalked him for four years on Instagram. Wore him down,’ the Perth-raised funnyman boasted. 

Host Sonia Kruger inquired whether they’d communicated via private messages, but Joel explained that his methods were considered “unusually intrusive” instead.

‘I saw he had tickets to the Adele concert and I was like “I guess like Adele too”,’ he quipped.

During Mardi Gras, co-host Richard Wilkins inquired from the main host about his incredible ability to find the model amidst a crowd of 100,000 individuals.

‘My stalking knows no bounds, I lasered in on him,’ he laughed.

In the same interview with The Project, Joel shared a rather uncomfortable discussion he had with Jack at an earlier stage in their relationship.

He explained: ‘We have been dating for a year then maybe a month ago, he said “oh my god you commented on one of my photos four years ago.”‘

Embarrassed, the comedian said: ‘Oh what did I write?’ 

I remember Jack mentioning that I recently used three eggplant emojis and then followed them with three water spout emojis.

Joel and Jack began dating in 2017.
