Comedian Dave Hughes reveals what REALLY happened inside Mel B’s chaotic wedding and says he feared the groom would be left at the altar – as fans go wild over his ‘hot wife’ Holly
Dave Hughes shares the behind-the-scenes details about Mel B’s extravagant wedding ceremony with her long-term partner, renowned hairstylist Rory McPhee.
54-year-old Australian comedian was present at the grand event held at London’s famous St. Paul’s Cathedral on Saturday. This was after he developed a bond with the couple during the filming of ‘The Masked Singer’ in Australia.
On Monday, Dave shared a series of videos and pictures on Instagram that documented the special occasion. Among these were a stylish selfie with Mel B and Holly, as well as a playful video capturing them taking the subway to the destination.
On Saturday, Holly and I enjoyed an amazing time at Mel and Rory’s wedding held at St. Paul’s Cathedral. That was the message in his recent social media post.
I became familiar with both of them on The Masked Singer, and I was thrilled to witness their wedding. It was a delightful day celebrating a refined couple. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.

However, only speaking with Daily Mail Australia, Hughes shared some surprising instances during the event that didn’t get posted on social media.
He mentioned that Mel was thirty minutes past due, which made me somewhat worried because if Rory hadn’t shown up yet in his kilt, without underwear or a bride, it could have been quite an awkward situation. However, fortunately for everyone involved, she arrived just in time!
He mentioned, ‘The small pup of Mel was given the task to carry the ring down the aisle, but it wandered off and caused a chase around the chapel, adding a touch of humor to the event!’
Despite the delays, the ceremony was filled with memorable touches.
Dave shared that the choir was simply outstanding, and surprisingly, the vicar incorporated a Spice Girls quote into his sermon, he mentioned.
Afterward, attendees were escorted on charming vintage double-decker buses to an extravagant gala held at The Shard. There, they had the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with Spice Girl Emma Bunton and comedian Alan Carr, as well as family members and intimate friends.
Outside the church, there was a massive crowd – many photographers too. None of them snapped my photo, though he quipped. Emma Bunton is truly kind-hearted and Alan Carr provided plenty of amusement; I found him delightful.
But it was Dave’s wife Holly who ended up stealing the show online.

Her striking off-shoulder yellow and white floral dress, adorned with a cream hat, captivated everyone’s attention. In no time, enthusiasts flooded the comment section with their opinions.
‘Holly wife looking stunning as always,’ one fan gushed.
Another person commented, “Hughesy, it seems you’re matching wits with the brilliant Holly! Wishing you all the best!
‘Holly – what a bomb! Dave – looking sharp,’ chimed a third.
Hughes dismissed the focus, speaking to Daily Mail: “I’ve been receiving ‘reaching beyond expectations’ remarks for 23 years. I consider them compliments!
Previously, a celebrity from The Masked Singer admitted he nearly didn’t receive an invitation to a wedding because of his commitment to film I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in South Africa.
1. He mentioned that while he was deep in the jungle, there was a whole month without any communication.
2. The invitation for Mel’s wedding came from her planner shortly after he arrived; he discovered it upon returning home when he checked his emails.
‘I quickly emailed back, ‘Yes… we want to go to the wedding!’

As an over-the-moon fan, I can’t help but exclaim that the timing for this wedding couldn’t have been more flawless! You see, I had already planned a getaway and lo and behold, the wedding happened to fall right smack in the middle of a couple of shows I was scheduled to perform. It’s as if fate itself arranged this perfectly timed nuptials for my enjoyment!
The wedding festivities took place only a few days following the media attention garnered by Hughes due to an intense altercation at Wimbledon, an incident he later discussed on his radio broadcast.
He remarked, “The gentleman speaking English behind us wouldn’t stop talking during the game.” Eventually, I told him, “Friend, could you please keep quiet?” People nearby were glad I spoke up. Why are some arrogant English people so presumptuous?!
In the year 2006, on New Year’s Eve, Dave and Holly got married, and they are parents to three lovely kids – Rafferty (age 15), Sadie (age 13), and Tess (age 11).
