Colin Morgan’s cat and mouse thriller gets new UK streaming home

As a seasoned gamer and TV enthusiast with a penchant for intriguing narratives and gripping performances, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming dramas gracing ITVX! The Killing Kind, with its enigmatic characters and complex plot twists, has already piqued my interest. Colin Morgan’s dark and complex role as John Webster, paired with Emma Appleton’s compelling performance as Ingrid, promises an engrossing watch that I eagerly await.

The British actors Colin Morgan, famous for his role as Merlin, and Emma Appleton, known for her part in The Witcher, have secured a new platform in the UK for their upcoming drama titled The Killing Kind.

Beginning September 12th, the show that debuted on Paramount+ in November of last year will become accessible on ITVX. Starting September 14th, the series will also be broadcast on ITV1 every Saturday.

The story unfolds around defense attorney Ingrid, who develops a romantic involvement with her client, John Webster. Initially, Ingrid successfully defended John after charges of stalking his former girlfriend were brought against him. However, when Ingrid opted to end their relationship, he sought to destroy her personal life.

After moving past her relationship, Ingrid encounters a surprise when her former associate, Webster, resurfaces with an explosive allegation. It seems there’s a hidden scheme unfolding, and Ingrid races against time to uncover the reality before it’s all lost.

Last year, when the announcement about the show was made, Colin Morgan shared that playing a deeper, intricate character alongside John Webster had been both insightful and enjoyable.

Working alongside the outstanding Emma Appleton is an absolute delight so far, not to mention the rest of our remarkable cast. The plot drew me in right from the start.

Apart from it, there’s another major production making its way to ITVX as well. The broadcasting company has revealed that “Pan Am,” an American airline drama set in the 1960s starring Christina Ricci and Margot Robbie, will be added to their lineup this fall.

ITVX has acquired the rights to air “Universal Basic Guys,” a grown-up animated sitcom featuring Fred Armisen, who was previously part of the “Saturday Night Live” team. This show made its debut in the US this week and will be accessible on their streaming platform starting next year.

The Killing Kind comes to ITVX on September 12, and premieres on ITV1 on September 14.
