Colin Jost posts hilarious update on the toe injury that kept him from 2024 Olympics coverage

As a die-hard fan of Colin Jost, I must say his wit and humor never cease to amaze me! From his stint as a Weekend Update anchor on Saturday Night Live to hosting Pop Culture Jeopardy, he’s proven time and again that he’s got the comedic chops. But let’s talk about his latest escapade – getting exiled to Malta from the Olympics due to a toe injury!

On a Sunday, Colin Jost utilized Instagram to disclose an update about the toe injury that prevented him from attending the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The 42-year-old humorist, freshly appointed as the host of Pop Culture Jeopardy, shared a satirical news update with his more than 800K fans, focusing on his foot.

Wearing a dark suit adorned with the Olympics emblem on one side, he started the video with this: “Hey buddy, everything alright?” That’s the most common text message I’ve received in the last 2 days. Typically followed by, “I heard your foot came off!” (paraphrased for easier reading)

In the snippet, recorded in front of the ocean, he added, ‘Well, I’m actually fine.

Furthermore, contrary to what sensationalized headlines might lead you to think, it wasn’t that I was expelled from the Olympics by some grand media conspiracy. Instead, NBC deemed my foot unfit according to their rules, effectively banishing me to the beautiful yet remote island of Malta.

Maintaining an entertaining atmosphere for his audience, Colin carried on speaking: ‘You might not find many Maltese Olympians participating this year, but there are plenty of 15-year-olds from Britain trying to see who can pass out first the quickest. Interestingly enough, they all seem to be doing it successfully.’

He mentioned that there’s a casino situated behind him, which he has spent hundreds of dollars on, earned as a surfing reporter.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself immersed in the rich history of Malta, a place that has faced ten separate bubonic plague outbreaks throughout its history. Given this intriguing fact, it seems fitting that I’ve become part of its storyline, seamlessly blending into its historical tapestry.

Two weeks back, Luke Bradnam, an Australian meteorologist, took over the role of the U.S.’s 2024 Paris Olympics surfing reporter from Jost.

The man, being a father of one, humorously expressed his gratitude in a video for the Tahitians, appreciating their kindness, generosity, and hospitality, while also mentioning that they occasionally referred to him as “Chupacabra.”

Chupacabra is a blood-sucking creature that consumes the blood of livestock like goats.

Jost reassured, “Don’t worry, my foot is completely okay. Despite my refusal to show it to you.”

Jost recently shared an image on social media from July 29, showing his bandaged toes, accompanied by the remark, “Things are really taking off when I’ve visited the Olympic medical center more often than any of the athletes.”

On July 26th, he posted a gruesome image of his bloodied fingers on the platform with the caption, “Although this could potentially lower my WikiFeet rating, I’ve just arrived in Tahiti for the surfing Olympics and the reef seemed eager to welcome me #Paris2024 #showfeet.”

Colin married actress Scarlett Johansson in 2020 and the couple welcomed son Cosmo in August 2021.

He is stepdad to Scarlett’s daughter Rose, who turns 10 on August 30.

Jost’s Jeopardy gig, set to stream on Amazon Prime Video, begins production this month.
