As a lifestyle expert, I find Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson’s love story to be truly unique and inspiring. Their journey to finding each other again after over a decade of being apart is a testament to the fact that sometimes, timing and destiny play a significant role in our lives.
Colin Jost shares insights into his experience of family life with wife Scarlett Johansson, revealing that he learned the ropes of fatherhood by observing her care for their daughter Rose.
The Saturday Night Live star started dating her film star mother in 2017, and this occurred when the child was only two years old at the time.
For five years prior to the birth of their son Cosmo, who is now two, the comedian was able to observe the Hollywood leading lady’s mothering skills by dating her.
“I believe one reason I developed feelings for her is her wonderful mothering skills,” Jost shared with The New York Times. “I have known Rose, my stepdaughter, since she was just two years old. It’s an unusual experience to get a glimpse of someone’s parenting abilities beforehand.”
In 2006, Johansson made her debut as the Saturday Night Live host, where she initially crossed paths with Jost. This encounter took place well before her marriage to her first husband, Ryan Reynolds, which occurred years after. Their relationship didn’t begin until much later in time.

Within just two years of their initial encounter on the SNL stage, Johansson wedded Reynolds.
In 2011, her initial marriage to a well-known person ended in divorce. The next year, she appeared to have found happiness anew by starting a relationship with a French journalist and art dealer, who is also the father of Rose, after they were introduced through mutual friends in Paris, France.
In November 2012, my loved one and I decided to share our romantic journey with the world. Fast forward to October 2014, we took the next big step in our relationship by exchanging vows in the beautiful town of Philipsburg, Montana. This special moment came just about a month after we welcomed our precious daughter Rose into our lives.
In the midst of splitting my time between New York City and Paris, my partner and I eventually went our separate ways around mid-2016. We officially ended our marriage in September 2017 by finalizing the divorce.
Eleven years after their first encounter, Jost and Johansson had the opportunity to reconnect in May 2017 during the SNL season finale, leading to renewed discussions of their romantic connection.
After the conclusion of the show, my dear friend and I exchanged a heartfelt embrace on stage as we bid our audience a fond farewell. Later on, we made our way to the afterparty where, as I’ve heard through the grapevine from Page Six, we were spotted sharing a passionate kiss.
Later in the same year, the comedian revealed the truth about their romantic relationship to the public for the first time. This disclosure took place at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in New York City in November 2017, marking their debut as a couple at this event.
In October 2020, they got married in a small, private ceremony during the pandemic, with just their closest family members and loved ones present.

I couldn’t believe it when when my beloved partner and I became parents for the first time! Our little boy, Cosmo, was born in August 2021, making him two years old now. We were thrilled to add him to our growing family.
In the same interview, the Weekend Update co-anchor with Michael Che for many years revealed that his wife enjoys ordinary activities, which she sometimes conceals with a simple disguise.
The proud husband spoke highly of his wife, saying, “She visits the supermarket. She wears a hat exceptionally well and keeps moving discreetly.” Essentially, she manages to blend in and stay unnoticed while running errands, yet still savors the experience.

In addition, there are instances when the duo collaborate. For example, take his small appearance in Johansson’s latest movie, “Fly Me To The Moon,” where Tatum stars as the main actor.
On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the actress shared that the movie’s director, Greg Berlanti, has been an avid fan of her husband for some time.
She playfully remarked, “Colin argued that he was obligated, as per our prenup, to do this.” Then she quipped, “If I have a responsibility, he must stand by my side. This comment elicited hearty laughter from the host and the guest.
During their conversation, they continued to enjoy each other’s company and laughed more. Jost often assisted her in preparing her lines for the following day at work. Yet, there were times when his help took on an overly theatrical flair.

“It’s wonderful to rehearse lines with him. You’d assume it would be quite beneficial since you have a companion to assist you, allowing us to memorize our lines for upcoming scenes.” – Johansson explained, expressing gratitude.
When it comes to their line reading sessions, she noted that he becomes very focused and intense. However, this approach isn’t always welcomed by Johansson.
She quipped, “He puts so much effort into memorizing his lines, but the results aren’t always what I hope for.” I replied, “Maybe you should just recite the lines instead.”
She continued to share that he enjoys overacting and adding large pauses for effect during his home shows, a style she finds unwelcome.
