Colin Jost has spent two decades at *Saturday Night Live*, and over ten years as a host on Weekend Update. Throughout his time on the show, he’s worked with countless famous celebrity and musical guests, and he’s always remained professional. Remarkably, he’s only asked one person for an autograph during his entire run at *SNL* – and it was a legendary athlete from New York City.
Jost is a big fan of New York City sports, especially the Giants. When Giants quarterback Eli Manning, who led the team to a Super Bowl victory, hosted an event in 2012, Jost couldn’t resist asking him to sign a funny 8×10 photo – a picture of Jost lying in a bed of footballs. Here’s what Jost told People magazine about the experience…
He just signed it ‘To Colin, Eli.’ It looks almost romantic. It’s such a funny photo.
Jost was happy to hear that wasn’t his last time working with Manning. Manning is currently hosting a three-day morning show called *Breakfast At Bethpage* at The Ryder Cup. The show previews the major golf competition between the US and Europe, which happens every two years, and is a collaboration between Eli and Peyton Manning, NBC Sports, and T-Mobile.
Colin Jost and Peyton Manning recently teamed up for the Celebrity Ryder Cup golf tournament, and their team-including Miranda Lambert and Noah Kahan-ended up winning! Jost probably didn’t ask Manning for another autograph this time, but he may have discussed their working relationship. Jost is currently contracted with Manning’s Omaha Productions, the company behind the upcoming series *Chad Powers* and the popular WWE show *Unreal*.
John Jost is well-known for growing up in Staten Island, and his recent purchase of a Staten Island Ferry boat with Pete Davidson has become a frequent joke – even inspiring sketches on *Saturday Night Live*. Jost’s attempt to make the ferry profitable has been a slow process, similar to the struggles of his favorite football team, the New York Giants, who have only had one winning season since 2017. The Giants are currently 0-3, but with fourteen games remaining, there’s still hope for improvement.
People are really enjoying *Breakfast At Bethpage*, which isn’t surprising considering how much fans liked Jost’s Olympic surfing coverage. He’s good at combining sports and pop culture, and many believe this type of show could be a natural fit for him after he leaves *Saturday Night Live*.
You’ll be able to see Jost when *Saturday Night Live* returns for its 51st season in early October. He’ll be working alongside a lot of exciting guest hosts, and hopefully, he won’t ask any of them for autographs!
