Firth’s talent and versatility never cease to impress me, and I have no doubt that he will bring Sir Bucephalus Hodge to life in an unforgettable way.

Colin Firth is joining the cast of upcoming Prime Video series Young Sherlock.

As a passionate gamer and avid fan of the Young Sherlock Holmes novels, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be stepping into the shoes of Sir Bucephalus Hodge in the upcoming TV series adaptation. Kudos to the Oscar-winning actor for joining us on this exciting journey! (Based on the information from Variety.)

As a seasoned entertainment journalist with over a decade of experience covering the film and television industry, I’ve seen countless announcements about new projects and castings. But when I heard that Hero Fiennes Tiffin has been chosen to play the lead role in the upcoming series, my interest was piqued.

When Sherlock Holmes turns 19 years old, he’s raw and unpolished, having not yet refined the legendary detective skills we know him for. Caught up in a murder investigation at Oxford University, this early experience puts his own freedom at risk.

In his initial investigation with no rules to follow, Sherlock unearths a worldwide conspiracy that will significantly alter the course of his life.

Further details of what’s in store for Firth’s character is currently being kept under wraps.

Guy Ritchie, known for his work with “The Gentlemen,” will be at the helm as director and executive producer of “Young Sherlock.” Matthew Parkhill has secured the roles of writer, executive producer, and showrunner for this project.

In their final TV role, Firth portrayed Michael Peterson in the 2022 HBO Max limited series “The Staircase.” Peterson is a real-life author who stood accused of murdering his wife Kathleen. Toni Collette also featured in the eight-episode production, which marked Firth’s swansong on screen.

Alongside “Young Sherlock,” Fith has been announced to act in a new Sky drama concerning the Lockerbie bombing case.

In a five-part retelling, we revisit the tragic occurrence of 1988 when an aircraft carrying 259 passengers and crew exploded above the Scottish town of Lockerbie, claiming the lives of those aboard and unfortunately 11 local inhabitants as well.

In the series, Firth portrays Dr Jim Swire. He is a grieving father whose precious daughter Flora was taken in the terrible terrorist incident. Determined to pay tribute to his daughter’s memory and pursue accountability for the calamity, Swire puts everything on the line.

Young Sherlock currently has no release date.
