Colin Fassnidge one word takedown of a nasty troll who makes inappropriate comment about Julie Goodwin’s weight loss

Colin Fassnidge stands up for Julie Goodwin, an Australian native, amidst nasty online remarks regarding her recent weight loss.

This week, the 51-year-old Irish chef gracefully handled an unpleasant commenter on the MasterChef celebrity’s Instagram by responding to their unkind remark under one of her latest posts.

Although comments are now disabled on the picture featuring Julie’s slender figure, numerous people noticed Colin intervening with a sharp and pointed remark.

In addressing a particular critic, I diplomatically referred to him as someone who employs bullying tactics. My supporters, in their defense of me, echoed similar sentiments, labeling him a “bully” as well.

‘Disgusting comment. Grow up,’ another added.

It seems that Colin and Julie have a friendship off-camera within the television world, as they teamed up for a joint appearance on My Kitchen Rules last year.

After Julie, aged 54, released a statement explaining and justifying her recent weight loss, as fans had expressed worries about her well-being.

On Thursday, the ex-MasterChef Australia contestant took to Instagram to post an update following the publication of a recent picture that showed her looking noticeably slender.

Her dramatic transformation led to comments from worried followers.

I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to each one of you for your thoughtful concerns regarding my wellbeing. Rest assured, I’m doing just fine! In fact, I’ve been keeping a close eye on my health and am pleased to report that I fall within the healthy weight range. My doctor and I share this good news.

‘For those who have asked me for advice or tips, I am not qualified to provide this.

As a devoted admirer, let me emphasize the importance of seeking guidance on health matters from genuine medical experts, rather than relying on my perspective as a television chef. My expertise lies in culinary arts, not healthcare.

If you’d like to share thoughts about the form and state of my body, I kindly ask that you do so on a separate platform, as I find myself growing weary of such comments.

‘For that reason I’ll be turning off comments on this post,’ she continued.

‘For all of us can we please find something more interesting to talk about.

As someone deeply committed to nurturing the next generation, let me humbly suggest that we prioritize demonstrating kindness towards our children and grandchildren. And for the sake of progress and inclusivity, I propose that we relinquish the outdated fixation on physical appearances that characterized the 1980s. May peace and love guide our journey forward.

I felt compelled to address some recent speculations triggered by a selfie I posted this week. Some people have been asking if I’m unwell, which I’d like to clarify.

One fan expressed their genuine concern, but reassured that as long as you’re healthy and okay, there’s no need for worry.

Hey Julie, it seems like you’ve lost quite a bit of weight,” someone commented, while another added, “I’m worried about her health; she appears unwell.

Someone asked Julie, ‘You seem great, but are you feeling alright?’ and they added, ‘Julie, I hope everything is okay with you. You don’t look like yourself today.’

‘She looks like a skeleton,’ one more person wrote, with yet another saying: ‘OMG you look so ill.’

One individual supported Julie by stating: “I admire how folks guess she’s had vaccinations. I’d wager she prioritizes self-care and eats nutritious meals instead.

‘OMG Julie you look amazing! You have a beautiful smile. Keep shining!’ another said.

Another joined the conversation, saying: “Let’s all refrain from commenting on Julie’s weight and suggesting that she is underweight.

It seems like you’re imagining her as the way you want her to be, based on your personal preferences. If she had always appeared this way, nobody would comment on it.

‘Just be happy for her that she’s happy, her doctor’s happy, and she’s healthy!’

More recently, it was disclosed that Julie has shed additional pounds since undergoing an unintended significant change approximately nine years back, resulting in a massive 20 kilograms weight loss.

On Instagram, Julie posted a selfie showing her slimmer-than-usual figure after her recent appearance on Sunrise.

Julie stopped dyeing her hair and embraced a more organic shade, highlighting her locks while also displaying the weight loss she achieved after winning the cooking competition in 2009.

The expert in the kitchen appeared slender while motivating followers to taste her chicken pie, topped with a layer of baked potatoes.

In the post, Julie kept her distinctive wide-rimmed glasses on, even after her transformation, and sported a stylish black and white striped top.

In 2016, Julie made it clear that her significant weight loss wasn’t due to dieting, and it wasn’t something to celebrate either.

She clarified to Women’s Weekly that she didn’t suddenly lose a significant amount of weight due to any extreme or unfortunate diet change, as it may appear. It was nothing like that.

In my day-to-day operations, I find myself so busy with my business that it feels like I’m constantly on the move, often neglecting meals, which is not conducive to good health.

Julie reprised her MasterChef appearance in 2012 for the MasterChef All Stars series.

She went on to appear on Ten’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015.

Lately, it was Julie who graced the stage during the 2024 season of Dancing with the Stars on Channel Seven.
