Coleen Rooney says husband Wayne was getting 'chants' at matches about her while she was on I'm A Celebrity: 'The impact has been massive'

During her time on “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”, Coleen Rooney disclosed that her husband, Wayne Rooney, was hearing cheers related to her at his football matches.

Last year, the WAG, aged 38, appeared on ITV’s series, ultimately losing to Danny Jones from McFly in a close competition.

Although he was managing Plymouth Argyle at age 39, Wayne was subsequently let go, even amidst his stint in the jungle.

Colleen mused about living life alongside Wayne under public scrutiny, expressing her belief that perhaps he has faced harder challenges compared to herself.

On the Stick To Football podcast, she mentioned that he might have faced harder times than herself. Many people have criticized him, which makes things difficult since he consistently plays each week.

‘He told me while I was in the jungle he was getting chants about me all the time.’

Colleen confessed that she was taken aback by the response from the audience after her appearance on the program, which attracts millions of viewers every evening.

She mentioned: ‘The response from “I’m A Celebrity” has been tremendous. I realized it was a large production, but I underestimated how many people would pay attention to me.’

In the past, I’ve accomplished quite a few things, yet there are many who seem to misunderstand my character. Instead of seeing me as a whole person, they often cherry-pick aspects and overlook the essence of who I am. Given my public profile, it’s essential to remember that behind the scenes, we are all just ordinary individuals.

The celebrity confessed that she had concerns about appearing dull during her time in the jungle, and sought advice from her mom on what impression she made when she traveled to Australia to see her on the bridge.

Colleen mentioned that she maintains contact with her fellow I’m A Celebrity contestants, and their group chat is bustling constantly.

Colleen and Wayne have been a couple since they turned sixteen years old, and they share five children: Kai (aged 15), Klay (11), Kit (eight), and the youngest, Cass, who is six.

As a steadfast individual, I’ve never been one to shirk challenges. I’m not the delicate flower type, but rather someone who faces adversity head-on and keeps moving forward. My partner, Wayne, and I have been each other’s pillars of strength, sharing our journey together through thick and thin.

In addition to discussing matters, the woman with four children touched upon her legal dispute in the Wagatha Christie court case involving Rebekah Vardy. Rebekah filed a lawsuit against Coleen due to allegations made by Coleen that she was leaking stories about Coleen to the media.

Colleen expressed: ‘I reached my absolute low point. I found myself powerless in the situation, which made it challenging. Even though I knew I was speaking the truth, having someone else take me to court and making me defend and explain myself was difficult.’

For quite some time, I found myself unable to escape from it. Each morning, as I awoke, I’d tell myself, “Colleen, carry on with your day,” but it persistently returned.

I didn’t feel like my usual self; I became irritable, and every Friday, the lawyers from the other team would call me at the last minute, trying to spoil my weekend.

In simpler terms, they would update me about the situation and wish me a good weekend. However, instead of relaxing, I would ponder excessively about various aspects and try to figure out what they might need from me.

By 2 am, Wayne was always settled on the couch, ready to watch something, and eventually announce, “Time for bed.” This habit strained our family dynamics and friendships because I became less social, and it left me feeling empty.
