Coleen Rooney shared a loving message for her husband, Wayne, on his 40th birthday on Friday.
The 39-year-old wife and mother of a footballer shared a happy photo with her husband on Instagram, showing them both smiling at the camera.
Alongside the post, she penned: ‘Happy 40th birthday @waynerooney …love you xxx’
Their son Kai, 15, also took to his Instagram Stories with a sweet snap next to his parents.
The family are currently living it up in Dubai as they celebrate Wayne’s big day.
‘Happy birthday dad,’ he wrote next to the photo with a red heart emoji.
Coleen’s recent social media update follows Wayne’s statement that his wife ‘saved’ him from battling alcoholism, and that he wouldn’t be alive today without her.
The retired soccer player discussed the depth of his difficulties in an interview on a podcast hosted by his ex-Manchester United teammate, Rio Ferdinand.
When he was younger, Wayne said he just wanted to have fun and spend time with his friends. But he admits he eventually went overboard, and it caused him a lot of difficulties.
He explained that he felt unable to reach out for help, not wanting to bother anyone with his problems.
Wayne remembered a time he drank alcohol continuously for two days before going to football practice.
Wayne tried to hide his two-day drinking spree from his coworkers and boss by using eye drops, chewing gum, and aftershave to cover up the signs.
He explained that during training, he’d often score goals, but then would immediately return to drinking heavily for two days afterward.
Wayne shared a deeply personal moment, publicly thanking his wife and mother of his four children, Coleen. He confessed that he truly believes she saved his life, saying he wouldn’t be alive today without her.
He excitedly explained that Coleen is a huge part of his life. He added that they both came from similar backgrounds in Croxteth, grew up together, fell in love, got married, and now have children, making their connection even stronger.
When I was 17, my mother really understood me. She recognized I was a bit different – I was passionate about football, almost obsessed with it, but I also enjoyed going out and having fun.
She recognized the issue right away and has been a huge help in managing it. She didn’t control it for me, but she really helped me take control myself.
Sometimes it feels confusing, like you’re wondering why someone is constantly telling you what not to do.

He went on to express his admiration for his wife, explaining that while he’s made errors in the past, she consistently guides him towards being a better person – something she’s been doing for over twenty years.
Coleen and Wayne first met as kids in Liverpool at age 12, and they began dating four years later when they were both 16.
The couple tied the knot in Italy in 2008 and are now parents to four children: Kai, who is 15, Klay, 11, eight-year-old Kit, and six-year-old Cass.
