Coleen Nolan reveals she’s split from boyfriend Michael Jones after three years together and reveals the heartbreaking reason behind their break-up

Coleen Nolan has revealed she’s split from her partner of three years Michael Jones.

59-year-old celebrity from Loose Women started dating a warehouse worker at the supermarket following their initial encounter on Tinder in 2021. Their relationship had its ups and downs, with her breaking up with him on three separate occasions.

Unfortunately, in a sad turn of events regarding her relationship, Coleen disclosed that she and her partner have chosen to separate permanently and maintain friendship, sharing the cause for their split.

She shared with OK! Magazine, “We’ve chosen to maintain our relationship as friends, considering it purely friendly, and this decision has no connection to any third party. It’s not about blame; it just happened naturally.

‘But I’m really busy and when I’m not really busy with work I’m busy on the farm and I feel personally that I can’t give time to everything. We still get along great and hopefully we can continue to be friends, who knows?’

Coleen continues to maintain a friendship with Michael, even as she cultivates strong relationships with her former spouses Shane Richie and Ray Fensome. This open-minded approach, according to Coleen, is a result of maturity and life experiences she has gained over time.

The artist mentioned that, since she will be turning 60 next year, she no longer has the luxury of patience when it comes to relationships. Instead, she emphasized that life is too precious to wait and see what might happen, which was a sentiment she may not have held in her younger years.

After our separation, she expressed; “It’s not like I can say I wasn’t saddened, of course there was sorrow. Yet, I truly hope that once this sadness subsides, we can maintain a friendship. I don’t harbor any regrets about it, it was wonderful. Michael appeared at the perfect moment for me, and I believe over the past three-and-a-half years, we’ve assisted each other in personal growth.

When discussing her romantic history, the TV personality shared how she chose to emphasize the ‘memorable good times’ rather than the ‘disappointing conclusion.’ She reminisced about those periods, acknowledging that although the final two years of each of her marriages were ‘awful,’ she wouldn’t erase the ‘wonderful’ ten years she experienced before that challenging phase.

Regardless of the sorrow from her separation, Coleen is moving ahead and concentrating on managing her cherished farm, a venture she shares with her daughter Ciara Fensome and Ciara’s fiancé Max. Coleen herself described this farm as her ‘haven of happiness.’

This year, Coleen subtly suggested the possibility of an upcoming engagement with Michael when she confessed her fascination with diamond rings and shared a glimpse into her usual day following her stint on Loose Women with her followers.

On her Instagram post, the television figure, fresh from moving in with her significant other, described in the comment section what she does following work while in London: ‘Activities I engage in after work xxx.’

In an enlightening video, I, a devoted follower, was granted a glimpse into the retail therapy journey of a previous singer as she wandered through Westfield, situated in the western part of London. She confessed that her previous visit to this expansive shopping center left her disoriented.

After browsing through various stores, Colleen found herself drawn to an eye-catching jewelry window display, pausing to appreciate a collection of dazzling rings while remarking to the camera, “Take a look here. I’m not suggesting that I’m getting engaged or married, but if I were, I can’t help but be fascinated by diamond rings. They’re quite pricey, though.

The television personality, hailing from Loose Women, found herself captivated by the charm and jokingly remarked, “I won’t be going in,” as she walked towards the store entrance.

However, the popular TV figure later firmly stated that she would not marry Michael until he agrees to a pre-marital contract.

In an interview with Kaye Adams on her podcast, Colleen shared: ‘I believe Michael might want to get married someday. If it truly mattered to him, perhaps I would, but I’d undoubtedly have him sign a substantial contract first, as I don’t intend to experience that ordeal again.’

‘I’ve looked into it. 100 per cent. It’s sorted from there and it’s a reference point; no-one thinks they’re going to split up.’ 

She continued by saying, “I’ve never been a fan of prenuptial agreements as they seem quite unromantic to me, almost suggesting that the relationship is doomed and we should just go ahead and sign this.

I’m hopeful that it will function smoothly and we can avoid referring to that document in the future. My past divorce ordeal is something I never wish to revisit. Though I didn’t detest Ray, there were instances when I found myself exclaiming, ‘Oh my goodness, this isn’t fair.’

In February, Coleen disclosed that she had ended her relationship with Michael on three occasions due to lingering issues stemming from her former husband Shane Richie’s infidelity.

In the lead-up to moving in with Michael, Colleen confessed that she had previously distanced herself from him due to past hurts. Specifically, this happened after her ex-husband Shane was unfaithful.

She shared with The Mirror: “There’s a possibility I could get engaged, but it doesn’t automatically imply that I will be getting married.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but feel that Michael harbors dreams of us tying the knot. To give him his due, it seems this desire might stem from insecurities, likely rooted in our past encounters where we’ve parted ways on three occasions since our first meeting.

Due to the challenges I faced in the past, I found myself distancing myself from him, fearing I couldn’t handle more. However, through therapy and personal growth, I’ve managed to overcome those issues and am now fully embracing the emotional support he offers. It’s wonderful, really. So let’s avoid trying to mend something that isn’t in need of repair.

In the past, she was wedded to actor Shane (who gained fame on EastEnders) for a period of nine years from 1990 to 1999. It’s worth noting that he is the father of her two sons, Jake Roche and Shane Roche Jr.

In the year 2017, Colleen parted ways with her second spouse, Ray Fensome, following eleven years of matrimony. Together, they have a child named Ciara.
