Coleen Nolan has laid bare her financial concerns amid the brutal budget cuts to Loose Women.
The veteran ITV host, age 60, has spoken about the unfortunate changes to the daytime show after recent budget cuts.
Last June, the Daily Mail reported that ITV’s show was planning to remove its live audience and change its schedule. This was a last-ditch effort to cut costs as the channel faced ongoing budget reductions.
Coleen shared on the Not My Bagg podcast that the show will now only air during school terms, meaning there will be no new episodes during school holidays.
It’s great to have time off, but then reality sets in and you remember you still have bills to pay.
She explained that things will be different, but she’s hopeful it will work out. She’s mostly sad about leaving behind the people she worked with.

The show will go on, but without a live audience or guests, it seems. It’s going to feel more like a radio podcast, but broadcast on TV.
She acknowledged the situation could have been much more negative. She explained that they could have simply announced the project wouldn’t continue and ended the conversation. However, the project is still active and ongoing, which is a positive outcome.
Coleen explained that she enjoys performing with a live audience because of the energy and immediate reactions. She admitted it will be strange not having that experience this time.
Despite being upset, Coleen acknowledged she understood why the cost-cutting measures were necessary for the business.
She acknowledged the job losses were upsetting, saying everyone affected needs to find new employment. While understanding it’s a business and difficult choices are sometimes necessary, she noted that budget cuts were the driving factor.
Television has changed a lot. There are just so many channels now, and with so much competition, it’s hard to keep track of them all.
Things have really changed since I was growing up. When I was a kid, we only had three TV channels – that really shows how long ago that was!
When I was nine years old, I appeared in a series featuring Cliff Richard. It aired on Saturday nights and regularly drew an audience of 23 million viewers each week.

Lorraine will now air for 30 weeks a year, with each episode shortened to 30 minutes and broadcast from 9:30 to 10:00 AM.
This Morning will still be on air for two and a half hours, starting at 10am and ending at 12:30pm. Good Morning Britain will now be 30 minutes longer.
Loose Women will still air from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, but instead of running year-round, it will follow a seasonal schedule with episodes for 30 weeks of the year.
The show has moved locations, with filming now taking place at The H Club Studio in Covent Garden, London, starting this week (Monday, January 5, 2026). It was previously filmed at Television Centre in White City.
