Coldplay’s Chris Martin paid ‘millions’ to ‘play a secret gig in Hampshire’ and jokes to fans he is ‘now unemployed’ as band wraps up record-breaking tour

After finishing their hugely successful tour, Coldplay’s Chris Martin apparently performed a small, private concert in Hampshire.

The British band wrapped up their historic tour with a final concert at Wembley Stadium. They’re the first band ever to sell over 13 million tickets for one tour.

Following their extensive world tour, Coldplay’s Chris Martin apparently performed a private concert on Saturday.

Reports suggest Chris received a multi-million dollar payment for the private performance, but he’s expected to donate the entire amount to charity.

Compared to his usual performances at Wembley Stadium, where he plays to crowds of 82,000 people, Chris recently performed for a much smaller group of just 70 at a casual ‘Indian summer’ party.

Chris joked to the crowd about how cozy the venue was, comparing it to Wembley Stadium by saying there were more people using the restrooms at Wembley than were present at the current gig, according to The Mirror.

Later her reportedly joked, in reference to the end of his tour: ‘I’m now unemployed’.

Swiss singer-songwriter Miel de Botton hosted the show at her home in Hampshire, and Chris performed for an hour and a half.

Instead of performing with the other members of Coldplay, Chris was joined on stage by a bass guitarist who’s been playing with him since childhood, along with backup singers.

Daily Mail has contacted Chris’s representatives for comment.

Following reports that Coldplay may earn around £1 billion from their tour, and potentially even more with merchandise sales, this news has emerged.

This tour will make Coldplay the highest-grossing UK live act of all time, exceeding the £718 million earned by Sir Elton John during his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

According to Pollstar’s Andy Gensler, who spoke with The Mirror, total concert ticket sales are expected to reach around 13 million, though official figures won’t be available until after the Wembley concert.

‘Cumulative grosses have already reached $1.39billion, and London should push it over $1.4billion.’

I’ve been a huge fan of the band for years, and while their current tour is amazing and clearly doing really well, I was really upset to hear about what happened last Sunday. Apparently, some fans booed when Chris Martin acknowledged their Israeli fans, and it’s just really disheartening to see something like that happen at a show that’s supposed to be about bringing people together.

Just weeks prior, a kiss cam moment at a concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts, publicly exposed a romantic relationship between a prominent tech company’s CEO and their head of human resources.

Coldplay’s recent Music of the Spheres tour created a stir when a ‘kiss cam’ at a Foxborough concert unexpectedly revealed an affair. The camera caught a tech CEO and his head of human resources sharing an intimate moment, bringing the relationship to light.

At a July show, astronomer Andy Byron was spotted with his arm around Kristin Cabot. When a camera operator zoomed in, Byron appeared to try and hide from view.

Chris said to the crowd: ‘Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.’

They were quickly recognized on the internet and subsequently stepped down from their roles as CEO and head of human resources.

Andy’s wife, Megan Byron, has changed her name back to Kerrigan on social media and has moved out of their home.
