Coldplay adds 10 North American dates to long-running Music of the Spheres World Tour

As a seasoned cinephile with decades of concert-going under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Coldplay’s return to North America for their Music of the Spheres World Tour has sent shivers of excitement down my spine! Having witnessed the band’s mesmerizing performance in London last month, I can attest to the fact that this is an act not to be missed.

Coldplay is returning to North America for additional performances on their Music of the Spheres World Tour, following their six-night concert series in Seoul in April.

Following the unveiling of their tenth studio album, “Moon Music,” a week ago, the renowned English group is set to expand their ongoing tour with an additional 10 concerts in North America, slated for the upcoming spring and summer season.

The tour, beginning in March 2022, is scheduled to reach California on May 31, as the artists behind “Yellow” and “Something Just Like This” take the stage at Stanford Stadium, located in Northern California.

Following this, lead singer Chris Martin along with his band make their way to Las Vegas, Denver, El Paso, Texas, and a two-night stint in Toronto. Coldplay will be among the initial performers at Rogers Stadium, an open-air concert venue slated to open in Ontario next year. Additionally, they have scheduled shows in Foxborough, Massachusetts; Madison, Wisconsin; and Nashville. They will bring their North American tour to a close on July 26 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Live Nation announced that the band’s upcoming dates will take their renowned live performances to fresh locations, as part of their commitment to bring their concerts to fans worldwide,” is one way to paraphrase the original statement in a more natural and easy-to-read manner.

Sign-ups for artist presales are happening now and will continue until Thursday. The presale itself starts on Friday at 9 a.m., local time, on Ticketmaster. Meanwhile, the general sale kicks off on Friday at 12 p.m., also local time.

Seven-time Grammy Award winners plan to offer Infinity Tickets once more, these are twin tickets priced at $20 each, spread out across all venues. These affordable and accessible tickets will be available for purchase starting November 22nd.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of gracing NBC’s “Today” show stage in the bustling city of New York. The iconic band I was talking about unveiled their fresh album and tour plans with an electrifying performance.

Martin stated during his interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 last month that they are planning to produce just 12 full-fledged albums, emphasizing their commitment to quality. By setting a limit, they aim to maintain an extremely high standard for the songs to be included, making it challenging yet rewarding. Instead of resting on past successes, they’re striving for continuous improvement.

He explained that they chose 12 because “there are only seven Harry Potter series, there are only 12½ Beatles albums, and there’s roughly the same number for Bob Marley; our heroes all have around the same number of significant works.” Additionally, this well-known prankster caused a stir during his Brooklyn concert on Monday when he improvised a song at the piano after a fan asked for a non-existent Coldplay tune.

Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres world tour has broken records by selling over 10 million tickets worldwide, making it the highest-attended concert tour by any group to date. Last month alone, they sold out an impressive 10 shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, surpassing the previous record for most performances at this historic venue. The tour features tracks from their latest album “Music of the Spheres,” as well as new releases like “We Pray” and “feelslikeimfallinginlove.” In addition, the band performs fan favorites such as “Yellow,” “The Scientist,” “Clocks,” “Fix You,” “Viva La Vida,” “Paradise,” “A Sky Full of Stars,” and “Adventure of a Lifetime.

The tour picks up again on October 30 with 11 performances in Melbourne, Sydney (Australia) and Auckland (New Zealand) spread out through November. In January, they’ll perform for three nights in Abu Dhabi and then Mumbai follows. They’ll be in Hong Kong and Seoul during April, taking a break for the majority of May, before their performance on May 31 at Stanford.
