Code Geass: Lost Stories, the tower-defence strategy title to shut down on August 29th, 2024

As a dedicated gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of games come and go. Some have left lasting impressions, while others have faded into obscurity. But the recent announcement that Code Geass: Lost Stories will be shutting down has left me feeling a pang of sadness and frustration.

Code Geass: Lost Stories, the tactical defense game based on the anime series, is set to leave the mobile gaming community. The game’s developers have made an announcement that they will be ending service on August 29, 2024.

The reason for shut down of Code Geass: Lost Stories hasn’t been revealed

Code Geass: Lost Stories is an engaging game brought to life by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe Technology. This production blends RPG and action elements, infused with gameplay that’s reminiscent of tower defense. The inspiration behind this captivating game stems from the anime and manga series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, masterfully created by Sunrise.

I was looking forward to continuing my journey in Code Geass: Lost Stories, but unfortunately, the game will be closing down on August 29, 2024. This means that I and other players will no longer be able to access our accounts. The news came as a shock since the game had only been live for about nine months after its global launch on September 13, 2023.

The management apologized for having to cancel the game without providing detailed explanations, but it seems clear to me, even if I’m mistaken, what led to this outcome.

As a dedicated fan of this game, I’ve noticed that despite its decent reviews, the number of downloads on Android, as shown by AppMagic, was quite disappointing. Nearly a year after its release, the game had only managed to attract around 100,000+ downloads. Regrettably, this wasn’t sufficient to generate the desired revenue for the developers. In fact, according to the most recent data from AppMagic, the downloads were below the 5,000 mark for the last month. Consequently, it seems that the game is struggling to attract new players.

Regarding the game’s shutdown timeline, starting on July 29, 2024, you will no longer be able to download the game or make purchases. Furthermore, the game’s servers and its official social media channels will be closed on August 29, 2024.
