COD Mobile: Krai no longer part of the main battle royale mode rotation starting Season 1

Story Highlights

  • Krai will step out of the main BR rotation in COD Mobile starting Season 1.
  • Krai will return in Limited Playlists and Tournaments from January 23, 2025.
  • Introduced during the Season 10: 5th Anniversary update, Krai quickly became a fan favorite due to its fast-paced gameplay and unique locations.

In the gaming world of Call of Duty Mobile, the well-loved map named Krai, which has been a highlight in the Battle Royale mode, known as “Battle Royale,” is planning to take a break, at least for the time being. As of Season 1, Krai will not be featured in the regular rotation of the main Battle Royale mode in COD Mobile. However, rest assured that this isn’t a permanent farewell.

Krai will be available to play in Limited Playlists and Tournaments modes

It’s possible that taking Krai out of regular play could be consistent with the developers’ intentions to bring in new content and enhance gameplay variety, but at this point, no formal announcement has been made regarding this choice.

Krai is setting off on a new adventure! From the start of Season 1, Krai won’t feature in our regular Battle Royale mode lineup. But don’t worry, this isn’t goodbye just yet – we’ll see each other again soon!

However, you can expect to meet Krai frequently again starting January 23rd, appearing regularly in Limited Playlists and Tournaments!

As a dedicated Krai gamer, I’m thrilled to share that our favorite map won’t vanish entirely. Instead, it’ll be accessible within Limited Playlists and Tournaments, providing exciting opportunities to revisit it in distinct game modes. Mark your calendars, as the next chance to play Krai returns on January 23rd, 2025, once again appearing in Limited Playlists. So, let’s consider this a new chapter for our beloved map and get ready to explore its updated version!

Introduced on November 7th, 2024 as part of the Season 10: 5th Anniversary update, Krai gained widespread popularity. Named after administrative regions in Russia, known as Krais, this map incorporated locations inspired by Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, such as Golova, Sanatorium, and Zoo. Due to its compact size, Krai offered thrilling, fast-moving gameplay with non-stop action that was highly appreciated by numerous players.

Initially, since it came equipped with a timer, it was perceived as a temporary map. Given how rapidly players climbed the ranks using this map, I anticipated that it would cease operation at any instant. Consequently, the exclusion of Krai from the Battle Royale mode rotation is likely to disappoint many COD Mobile enthusiasts who cherished their experiences with it.
