Cobra Kai’s Alicia Hannah-Kim breaks silence after co-star Martin Kove BIT her at fan convention

After some time, Alicia Hannah-Kim, a cast member from Cobra Kai, finally spoke up following the incident where her co-star Martin Kove allegedly bit her during a fan convention in Washington.

The 37-year-old actress addressed the situation in an Instagram video she shared Sunday night.

Alicia referred to it as a significant event, underscoring the fact that no one desires to be assaulted at work, or anywhere else for that matter. She also highlighted the importance of taking a stance for oneself in such situations.

Alicia and Martin, aged 78, found themselves in the exclusive area at the Washington State Summer Convention in Puyallup, Washington, when the unexpected event took place.

Alicia told a policeman that Martin severely bit her, nearly causing her to bleed, which made her yelp from the agony.

Instead of pressing charges, she chose to submit a report at the venue and also took pictures of her bruises and bite marks.

Alicia and her spouse Sebastian Roche questioned Martin regarding the incident, leading Martin to react angrily and indignantly, vehemently asserting that he had bitten her playfully.

In her Instagram video, Alicia mentioned: ‘Given the current state of things worldwide, I want to be concise. I had a fantastic time at Summer Convention! It’s always great to connect with all of you in person. Many thanks to Taylor, who looked after me throughout the weekend as my assistant.’

She added, “It’s clear that this was a severe occurrence. Nobody desires to be assaulted, whether it happens at work or elsewhere. Frankly, I believe everyone would agree that such behavior isn’t usual, justified, or tolerable.

In situations like these, it’s beneficial to assert yourself. Making that decision is crucial, and I believe it’s the right thing to do.

I believe everyone can see that the atmosphere is fantastic, the cast is excellent, and everyone involved is delightful. Rest assured, this shouldn’t impact your enjoyment of the show; feel free to appreciate it as much as you desire. I merely wanted to express my gratitude to all involved and clear up any confusion. Let’s move forward.

Alicia captioned it: ‘Thank you to everyone who has reached out to send love and support.’ 

Martin chose to speak up about the incident through a statement issued by Jaffe & Company PR & Crisis Management, as previously reported by Deadline a few days ago.

In reflecting upon our past interactions with Hannah-Kim, I cannot help but express deep remorse and extend a heartfelt apology. Hannah-Kim is an exceptional individual, radiating kindness and warmth that truly deserves recognition. Unquestionably, she did not deserve to find herself in such an unfortunate situation due to my actions.

He acknowledged that she has consistently been a highly skilled and professional colleague I’ve admired while working together on Cobra Kai, as expressed in his writing.

In that instant, I was just being jovial, but I overstepped boundaries and there’s simply no justification for what I did,” Martin explained further.

I deeply regret my actions, fully acknowledging that the blame lies with me. Once more, I extend my sincere apologies to her and her spouse. I am determined to learn from this experience, ensuring that such an incident does not recur in the future.

The report stated that Martin, who played the antagonist in Karate Kid earlier, personally apologized to Hannah and her spouse following the incident.
