Cobra Kai star joins Disney+ spy drama series
As a gamer with a soft spot for both action-packed dramas and martial arts shows, I can hardly contain my excitement about Jacob Bertrand’s new role in the Korean spy drama, Tempest. Having grown up watching Ralph Macchio kick some Cobra Kai butt on the small screen, it’s fascinating to see Bertrand branching out and taking on a completely different character in this high-stakes series.
Cobra Kai star Jacob Bertrand has joined the cast of a Korean spy drama show.
Bertrand, known for his role as Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz in the Netflix series, has been cast to lead in the upcoming Disney+ and Hulu production titled “Tempest“.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the main ensemble of this upcoming production will be headlined by Gianna Jun and Gang Dong-won. Joining them are familiar faces such as John Cho, known for his role in ‘Star Trek’, Christopher Gorham, and Alicia Hannah-Kim, who shares screen time with me on ‘Cobra Kai’.
As reported by Deadline, the upcoming movie titled Tempest will weave a tale centered around Seo Munju, a renowned diplomat portrayed by Gianna Jun, and Sanho, a covert international agent played by Gang Dong-won. Their joint assignment demands them to expose the reality behind an attack that potentially imperils the long-term peace on the Korean peninsula.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming series I’ve been eagerly anticipating is being crafted right here in Seoul! Penned by the talented Chung Seo-kyung and masterfully directed by Kim Hee-won, this production is currently underway. I can hardly wait to see the magic they’ll weave on our screens!
Despite the fact that the movie “Tempest” won’t appear on American screens until 2025, both Disney+ and Hulu have hinted at an exciting blend of events for viewers, promising a thrilling mix of assassinations, political intrigue, conspiracy theories, and espionage when it makes its debut.
Details regarding the supporting characters are still being kept under wraps.
In the sixth and last season of Cobra Kai, now available in three parts on a streaming platform, Bertrand and Hannah-Kim are once again taking on their characters.
The first part of the season aired on July 18, and it consisted of five episodes per segment. The second part is set to premiere on November 15, and the entire series is expected to finish next year.
In a special chat with Digital Spy, William Zabka of Cobra Kai expressed high praise for the entire team involved in the production, expressing his belief that they have collectively created an outstanding series that he and others are eager for audiences worldwide to watch.
Cobra Kai streams on Netflix. Season 6 part 2 begins on November 15, with part 3 following in 2025.
