Cobra Kai season six lands impressive Rotten Tomatoes score
As a huge fan of the Karate Kid franchise and the Cobra Kai series, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that the sixth season had landed on Netflix. The first part of this final installment has been a rollercoaster ride for me, bringing back the familiar faces of Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (William Zabka), along with some new additions like CS Lee as Master Kim Sun-Young.
The first part of Cobra Kai‘s sixth season has landed an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score.
In the finale of “The Karate Kid’s” sequel series on Netflix, Ralph Macchio reprises his role as Daniel and William Zabka returns as Johnny.
The first five episodes premiered on the streaming service on July 18.
In the last season, Daniel and Johnny prepare their pupils for the Sekai Taikai competition, but clash over which martial arts technique to use. Meanwhile, hidden past of Mr. Miyagi is revealed in season six.
CS Lee, who previously starred in “Dexter,” has been added to the show’s cast as the beloved Karate Kid character, Master Kim Sun-Young.
After the initial episodes of “Cobra Kai” were released on the streaming platform, critics have weighed in with their assessments. Notably, the series has earned a commendable average rating of 82% based on 17 professional evaluations, according to review aggregator sites.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve noticed that some critics have raved about how this show manages to keep me laughing with its sharp wit and hilarious moments. On the other hand, a few critics have expressed their viewpoint that the show has been relying too heavily on past successes and not pushing boundaries as much as it could.
Here’s what some of the reviewers have been saying so far:
TheWrap
Based on the response from this initial group, it seems that people will be enthusiastic and excited enough to shout “Banzai!” once everything is completed.
Chicago Tribune
At any moment during the film, Johnny stands out as the most captivating character due to his constant internal struggle.
Paste Magazine
“Throughout its run, the show’s secret strength has been its sense of humor, which is abundant in season 6. It consistently pokes fun at itself and participates in the joke.”
Empire Magazine
“The transparent structure of ‘Cobra Kai’ leaves the series seeming complacent, instead of building momentum as it approaches its conclusion.”
Collider
Though bidding farewell to “Cobra Kai” may prove challenging, the first installment of season 6 suggests an unforgettable finale that devoted fans of the show and franchise have long anticipated.
Cobra Kai seasons 1-5 and season 6 part 1 are available to watch now on Netflix.
