Close enough, welcome back, Arcane: Bite Marks is the most-viewed League of Legends cinematic ever

Bite Marks, the League of Legends Season One Cinematic, is breaking records thanks to Arcane.

The “Bite Marks” movie, released to commemorate the League of Legends season themed around Noxus, set new records by being the most-watched cinematic on its YouTube channel within just a week. Notably, the character Katarina garnered significant attention from internet users.

Viewers were left in disarray and eagerly awaiting more after the release of Arcane Season 2. Remarkably, the cinematic for League of Legends Season One, titled Bite Marks, serves as a suitable substitute. Produced by Fortiche, the same studio behind Arcane, and featuring Mel Medarda, this cinematic functions as an epilogue to the beloved series. Furthermore, it introduces a fresh lineup of characters exclusively for the Arcane fandom, igniting discussions on social media.

Bite Marks dethrones The Call

In a mere five days after its release, the movie “The Bite Marks” racked up an astounding 168 million views. This impressive view count surpasses that of “The Call” from Season 2022, which accumulated 165 million views over a span of three years.

The triumph of Season One’s cinematic production can undeniably be attributed to Arcane. Following showrunner Christian Linke’s announcement that there won’t be a third season for Arcane, fans are eagerly seeking more Arcane-related content. A new series titled Bite Marks focuses on Mel Medarda as she reappears at the coast of Noxus post the events of Arcane Season 2.

In the movie, she gained insights into the Black Rose and experienced glimpses of the Eternal Fortress, suggesting that Mordekaiser might reappear. Additionally, it offered a sneak peek into Mel’s skills as a potential champion to be played in-game!

All told, among all videos on the League of Legends YouTube channel, Bite Marks ranks as the ninth most popular. Eight other videos receive more views than it does.

Discourse between Arcane and League of Legends fans

In social media, there was a lot of debate sparked by the cinematic. Among the characters from Arcane (excluding LeBlanc/”the Enigmatic Sorceress”), only Mel Medarda appears in Bite Marks. The rest of the cast consists of characters that LoL players are familiar with but are new to Arcane fans, such as Darius, Trundle, Vladimir, Elise, and Katarina, who were featured. Particularly noteworthy were LeBlanc and Katarina, who appeared in their Masque of the Black Rose outfits and looked fantastic in Fortiche’s style.

So excellent, indeed, that they sparked intense debates and passionate discussions online. Fans of Arcane found themselves advocating for a relationship between Katarina and Elise, while supporters of League of Legends lore were eager to share their insights about the romantic entanglement between Katarina and Garen.

Indeed, it’s still wonderful that so many people are getting acquainted with the vast tale and personalities of Runeterra.
