Prior to the scheduled release of the book in the UK on March 27 and in the US on June 10, the commission for the series has already been approved by executives at ITV, specifically Polly Hill and Kevin Lygo, without the need for further pilot episodes.

The story, titled “Mystery at the White Hart,” revolves around Detective Nicola Bridge as she navigates through a tangled network of deceit and competition to discover the murderer of the local pub owner in the picturesque Dorset village of Fleetcombe.

Chibnall is set to take on dual roles as executive producer and scriptwriter for the upcoming television adaptation, slated to begin production next year. Further information about casting will be shared at a future time.

In simpler terms, Chibnall stated that since Polly had confidently endorsed the book “Death at the White Hart“, making it an obvious choice, it was only logical for them to adapt this novel for television with ITV.

Starring Mia McKenna-Bruce, who won the BAFTA Rising Star award, and Martin Freeman from “The Hobbit,” along with Helena Bonham Carter from “The Crown,” this adaptation promises to be a captivating watch for all Agatha Christie fans like myself.
