Fans of Claudia Winkleman are speculating that Graham Norton might lose his position, as they applauded her for successfully hosting his talk show on Friday.

A TV host, aged 53, currently managing a long-term health issue known as myopia, temporarily filled in for Graham during his tour of Australia.

Viewers were delighted to see Claudia at the helm and said that she needed ‘her own chat show.’

Starting the program, she expressed regret saying, “Unfortunately, Graham couldn’t make it. Frankly, I’m as disappointed as anyone.

She prefaced her introduction of Rob Beckett, Toby Jones, Saoirse Monica Jackson, and Chris Pratt by expressing that the previous news was quite grim, but then added with a glimmer of excitement, “However, I’ve got fantastic news! Our guests are simply outstanding!

Fans commented on X, saying: “Claudia Winkleman would excel in a talk show of her own. She’s clearly capable while Graham is absent.

‘It’s possible that Graham might lose his job shortly, as Claudia is quite remarkable.’

Graham, 61, is currently taking an extended break with Friday being Claudia’s first appearance. 

During his trip to Australia, Graham Norton is set to host “An Evening with Graham Norton.” This event promises a mix of amusing anecdotes, insights into his career, and a Q&A session with the audience, making it an engaging experience for all attendees.

He will be back in the autumn for a new series. 

In light of BBC’s The Traitors gaining immense fame, it has been confirmed that Claudia is making her way from the Scottish Highlands to the talk show studio, where she will sit in the hot seat.

The presenter responded to Graham’s announcement on his show by saying: ‘I apologise in advance!’

The television host has consistently been open about her vision issues, and in December, she provided even more insight during a conversation on Gabby Logan’s Mid Point podcast.

She admitted: ‘I’ve had lens replacement. I’ve had so many operations on my eyes.

14 years back, I underwent a procedure to replace the lens in my left eye due to severe astigmatism. At that time, my prescription was as strong as -16.

The presenter acknowledged that her eyesight has evolved significantly throughout the years, implying a transition from nearsightedness to farsightedness.

She added, “Then I attempted to adjust it, however, since my eyesight had deteriorated significantly at that point, I can no longer see close objects clearly. As a result, I find it difficult to read now, as I have become farsighted.

With my glasses on, I can see better as they have a prescription of +2.5. However, when trying to read “The Bee Sting” under this particular lighting condition, I find it difficult.

In November 2023, Claudia disclosed that her vision remained quite hazy, even after having undergone two rounds of eye surgeries for correction.

The presenter of Strictly Come Dancing confessed that she’s never been able to observe her own visage due to this particular problem.
