Classic Spider-Man Villain Teased in Brand New Day Trailer

MCU fans think they’ve found a nod to a classic Spider-Man villain in the Brand New Day trailer.

The next Spider-Man movie, titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day (also referred to as Spider-Man 4), is coming to US theaters this July. Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi and is working on Wonder Man, will direct. Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, continuing his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It’s been four years since the events of No Way Home. Peter Parker is now an adult, living a solitary life after choosing to have himself forgotten by everyone he cares about. He continues to fight crime in New York, but no one remembers who he is. Fully dedicated to being Spider-Man, he finds the increasing demands of the job are causing strange physical changes that could endanger him. At the same time, a new wave of unusual crimes introduces a formidable new enemy – perhaps the most powerful he’s ever encountered.

What Spider-Man villain is teased in the Brand New Day trailer?

I’ve been hearing whispers for a while now that the Jackal might be one of the bad guys in the new Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day. But Marvel hasn’t said anything official about it yet. Honestly, even if it is him, I’m curious to see just how big a part he’ll play in the story. It’s all just speculation at this point, but it’s fun to think about!

Despite this, many fans still believe he could appear in the upcoming ‘Brand New Day’ storyline. This is because the Jackal is known for creating multiple Spider-Man clones like Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker, and a recent trailer included a mini-keg with the words “Green Jackal” on it, hinting at a possible clone saga within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It’s possible this was just a hidden detail or mistake, not a hint that the Jackal will be in the movie. But it could also mean the character will appear in Brand New Day. Spider-Man fans will have to wait until the film’s release on July 31, 2026, to find out for sure.
