Classic ’90s romantic thriller to get a remake with Taylor Swift director
Warner Bros has announced plans to reimagine the popular ’90s romantic-thriller film, “The Bodyguard,” with Sam Wrench, the director of Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” concert series, taking charge of the project.
Featuring Kevin Costner from the TV series “Yellowstone” alongside Whitney Houston, the successful 1992 romantic-suspense film cast Costner in the part of Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent.
In the popular 1992 romantic thriller, Kevin Costner from “Yellowstone” played the character of Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent, opposite Whitney Houston.
Both versions maintain the original’s clarity and natural flow while slightly rephrasing the sentence structure for variety.
When Frank assumes the role of a bodyguard for the renowned R&B artist Rachel Marron, portrayed by Houston, his mission becomes locating a potentially harmful stalker.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been keeping an eye on the upcoming remake, and while no casting details have been revealed yet, I’m excited to share that the writer behind Juror No. 2, Jonathan A. Abrams, has been entrusted with the scriptwriting duties, according to Deadline.
Given that Houston was at the pinnacle of her vocal career during the original release, choosing the right performer for the reboot’s leading role could prove to be a thrilling endeavor, brimming with numerous talented prospects for both acting and singing abilities.
Under the guidance of director Mick Jackson and the penmanship of Lawrence Kasdan, who is known for writing “Star Wars” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, the film “The Bodyguard” earned a staggering $411 million globally at the box office.
The movie received nominations for two Academy Awards in the category of Best Original Song, and the accompanying album, featuring popular tracks such as ‘I Will Always Love You’, ‘Run to You’, and ‘I Have Nothing’, remains the highest-selling motion picture soundtrack ever released.
Leading the new project is Joseph Wrench, who directed the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie. This director’s concert film documented Swift’s global tour and earned an impressive $261.7 million at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing concert movie in history.
Previously, Swift concluded the European phase of her record-setting tour, leaving London fans amazed as she made an allusion to the popular British soap opera, EastEnders.
At the concert held at Wembley Stadium, one of Taylor Swift’s dancers mimicked Peggy Mitchell’s well-known phrase, exclaiming “Leave my stage!” to the delight of thousands of spectators.
